I'm really surprised QVC is selling Z Palette items!!

Especially after their recent social media fiasco (you'll have to look it up, so I don't get the post poofed). I only heard about the Q selling this brand bc of a YT video I saw. Many YT'ers and beauty bloggers vowed to not buy their items after the situation. Would be interested to hear others thoughts on this.

@FUTURE whose media fiasco was it- QVC or z palette? I love my z palette but I haven't even seen anything on qvc about it. I am pretty much not buying anything from QVC anymore except WEN. I can get much better deals elsewhere and I just figured since qvc doesn't care to ever offer their customers % codes like other places do all throughout the year, why would I want to give them my money? I only wish I could get good deals on WEN elsewhere so I could completely stop buying anything from QVC. Anyway, nice to "see" you and hope you are doing well.

Well, if i were buying make-up, I might be a buyer. I don't follow any of the social media sites - no Facebook, no Twitter, no nothing. It's probably a matter of old dogs not bothering to learn new tricks, but I have to say that must be true in my social circle because I never heard a word about any Z issue - I read a newspaper paper every day and never saw a word about it - so for me it's a non-issue. Just never happened and/or is not important in comparison to the bigger issues of my world.

Same here. I only learn about some of the "scandals" from this forum, lol.

well, of course it isn't important in the bigger issues of the world. I'm not comparing it to terrorism or war or something that actually is important. But I also prefer to be an informed consumer if I'm interested in purchasing something, when I can!

I didn't know of the IG situation so I'm glad @FUTURE said( & thanks for explaining) I did a search and only found old scandals and the most recent was Lisa Rinna.

I already have a Z Palette and wouldn't buy another as mine is cardboard covered in paper. If another newer model is metal or plastic I'd be interested.

I saw the original comments from Z palette when it all went down and will never buy a Z Palette product. Qvc's audience is probably different enough from the social media scene audience that they can get away with selling them. You can google z palette scandal to see screenshots of how they treat their customers. Some things they said to customers include:

"You look like a cheap date but we aren't messing with you"

"You're in a dorm room. It may be a stretch for your budget."

"Thank god we don't need your money."

Wow, I looked it up & Z palette was very churlish in their posts! Qvc stuck with Lisa Rinna, but she pales in comparison to Z palettes' behavior. Maybe they were already in the works with Qvc they felt they could burn bridges with customers?

Z Palette is also sold at Sephora and Beautylish; they've been around for awhile. Their comments are childish and I DO expect professionalism from any business when dealing with the customer.

That said:

No company needs to defend their pricing of their item; we're not talking life-saving medications here but makeup. If they want to charge $25, $50, $150, that is THEIR right to do so. You can't afford it? Oh well. Companies DON'T owe you anything; there will be customers who can afford it and will buy it.

Z Palette should have simply answered with a "Thank you for your comment" and left it at that. Trying to be "cool" or "witty" or whateverthehell they were trying to be backfired and well, bad publicity is not something most companies want (notice I said "most"...maybe things are done differently in the snarky social media world).

What i cant get behind is a company who goes on social media and writes rude, unprofessional and demeaning comments to customers or potential customers. Don't get me wrong -- no doubt some posters/commenters were being rude in their comment regarding the pricing of the hot plate, but a company should NEVER make comments like some of those that they did. And the letter to follow was absolutely embarrassing. It just shocks me that anyone would have the nerve to be "snarky" aka RUDE to customers like that and not think it's going to backfire in some way.

Agree 100%.

In the end, both sides were out of line; the company SHOULD have maintained professionalism no matter what. Have to wonder why they went to such a low level....

What started this verbal fight was this - "The Z Potter sells for $85, which many customers felt was overpriced. People sounded off in the comments, complaining that the price was much too high for the product, which is similar to a hot plate. Z Palette hit right back, responding to comments with large amounts of sass."

Can't understand what's gotten into them to engage with customers this rudely. I wonder, was it Zpalette employee in charge of media, or could it be the owner?

Whoever this was, they were "important" enough to go ahead and defend this bad behavior, trying to justify it.

One person wrote a comment -"Zpalette would've just been better off saying they got hacked than giving a explanation of why they bullied people", and I think she is so right.

If they were not even going to apologize profusely, then all they could say - "it was not us, we were hacked! Ha-ha." This would be better. Lol!

This letter posted in defense of horrible comments, made all this look even worse. I kinda felt a little sorry for Zpalette, as I was reading these ramblings in attempt to explain and placate the uncontrolled rudeness..... but in their letter, there was not even a single attempt at an apology for this mishap......

Though there were many more of even nastier comments, my "favorite" one was (paraphrased) -

"it's not that (the warmer) is expensive, it's that YOU can't afford it". Priceless.

I think there are MANY retailers /companies who THINK THIS and would LOVE to SAY THIS to customers ALL. THE. TIME. but don't becuase they would lose business. And, you know what? I agree with that kind of thinking.

Exactly @SahmIam! They may FEEL this way often enough, but would not engage like this, for the sake of their business alone. Not to mention simple ethics and professionalism, so important for the company's reputation.

On a similar note: Something must have happened in the Beauty Guru world of twitter, Instagram, YouTube, etc because I've suddenly been reading MANY vlogs and articles about how people feel companies SHOULD make their products cheap so EVERYONE can afford them. The vlogs/articles are a backlash to that saying, in essence, that no, you DON'T deserve to own everything, that companies DON'T have to make things a certain price for everyone and no, just because YOU can't afford does NOT mean that everyone that can is a horrible person or better than you or whatever insult you choose to fling at them.

@SahmIamCan't stand the sense of entitelment, demanding and claiming all their "rights" while none - responsibilities. This is a pendulum swinging way to the other side.....

I recently was reading through some comments on Glow Recipe FB. One customer posted quite nasty and rude complaint about how she was charged $25 for her order shipped to United Kingdom, and how she had to also pay the UK custom duties of about 40 bucks......

She rambled, that her $100 order ended up costing her "two hundred dollars"! She claimed "this never happened" to her before..... Really?

Did not she see shipping amount before she clicked "Buy" button??? Did she not hear about custom's duty her country charges their subjects on imports???

I went to check GR shipping policy. There it was - they charge international shipping at that same amount (P.O. charge these days), AND it was also mentioned that receipients' countries custom's fees.....

I get so ...... off when I see stupid complaints like that. She should of back off from the order if these charges were NOT to her liking, buy locally or from another company who "eats" these charges, while including expenses in item's prices.

The Glow Recipe PROFUSELY APOLOGIZED to her......... and promised to send a refund...... and make it all better..... so she would not be upset....

Man! This means, that Glow Recipe will eat $25 shipping + $40 her goverment's import duties = gift her with $65 out of their pocket on $100 order.......

So, their nasty customer would feel a littler better, for being selfish and abusive of companies shipping policy, which she chose to ignore. In addition, she bad-mouthed Glow Recipe on the Face Book for everyone to see.

To me, this is above and beyond good customer service. To me, this is even too much. But they are a new company, and they are trying hard to succeed.

@sonechkoYes, indeed AND now other customers will demand the same treatment which will cost GLO how much? GLO did NOTHING wrong and yet, by bending over and taking it, they come off as they did.

Thinking back, I wonder if the whole nasty situation with May Lindstrom products raising prices was the trigger or the head of the pimple for this attitude; it was HORRIBLE was people was posting. May showed the why's and was always gracious and, to my knowledge, did NOT bend over and start sending people free stuff, giving them credits here and there and saying she did something wrong.

Maybe the ZPalette company was just "trying to keep it real" by responding with "the truth". Wonder what would happen if all companies started doing that....
