@NativeJax, you can go to the Paula's Choice Skincare website to get all of your questions answered. You can click on the "Expert Advice" tab and find information about specific skin problems, what causes them, how to prevent and/or treat them, and which Paula's Choice products to use for your particular skin type and condition. You can probably find out just about everything you want to know on that site just by reading. You can also do an online chat and/or talk to one of their customer care reps. They are fantastic!!!

i've used their BHA exfoliants for years and years and have found that some forms ot it work better for me than others at different times of the year. i've used the liquid, the lotion and the gel. One of the best things about talking with them is they will advise you, usually send samples, and stand by their products by making refunds or exchanges.

Another terrific service Paula's Choice offers is beautipedia dot com. It is a free and unbiased source of reviews of skin care and cosmetic products. One thing I really like is they review drugstore and "high end" brands and most of the time there are drugstore products that are as good as or sometimes better than some of the really expensive ones.

QVC has a few Paula's Choice products and had a TSV several months ago. I bought it because it included products I already use and was a very good deal. Check out the website and beautipedia. Hope this helps!

Suddenly today I noticed I have several clogged pores. I am so strict with my regime but I am wondering if one of two things may have caused this to happen. I have been having awful night sweats and several times waking with it on my brow. secondly, I have been applying some lotions that I would normally use on my hands in an effort to use up some products.

I don't usually get clogged pores. Any suggestions?

Many contain alcohol or other irritating ingredients not beneficial to the skin. I use the Paulas Choice one and it lasts me a while. St Ives face scrub is actually really quite rough for the face. It contains nut shells which aren't the perfect choice because they can cause microscopic scratches. A better choice would be chemical exfoliants, have you ever tried those? They are also the best choices to get rid of clogged pores. Both BHA and AHA. I do know they Alpha Hydrox brand has some affordable lotions and gels for AHA's.

Since you said this is recent, I would really look at your cleanser. Have you been using the meltdowns for a while with no clogged pores? Alpha Hydrox brand is really budget friendly especially considering you will start off slowly and only use it several times a week. I will look at ingredients at more budget friendly BHA's and see if I can't find you something more affordable but still good for the skin and I will get back to you on this thread.

I agree with @Irshgrl31201 about the BHA. I have always had large pores on the "butterfly" area and blackheads on my nose. Paula's Choice 2% BHA has been a game changer for me. It has made a dramatic difference in this area. QVC often has this product at a reasonable price and the bottle lasts a really long time.

Also, you say that you're using a hand product on your face. You have to be careful with that because some of the ingredients in those could be comedogenic.

I discovered these pads several years ago and I use one pad every other day. They have kept my skin clear of clogs and the occasional pimple. I can't rave more about these. I get mine at skinmedix dot com. You get 60 pads for $15 and always free shipping with no minimum. 60 pads lasts me two months. I think it's a great deal. Also, there is a 10%-off code at retailmenot.

If you shop at amazon, the name has changed to Replenix...same product.

I just tried a prodect that actually works for me. It's Demitri James SKINN Pure Pore Detox Cleaner and Pore Magnet Pore Perfecting Peel-Off Mask. These are sold as a duo on Evine.com for a very reasonable price of $28 dollars. After using these products for about a week I couldn't even see my pores. Give it a try. I think you'll be very pleased. Evine.com under SKINN.

Hi all!

I had a busy day so just getting back here. I use the simple Miceller water which I absolutely love! I use this particularly around my eyes to remove mascara. I use Dickinson witch hazel as my toner. Honestly, I think the few clogged pores I have is a result of trying to use up some lotions and creams I don't typically use one my face. I will stop using those on my face. I am sure my face will clear up quickly, last night and tonight I put no creams on after toning, just giving my skin a break for a few days.

I did look up some products I could pick up fairly cheap at the drugstore to have in hand that has the acids, maybe keeping stridex pads on hand for an occasional breakout?

Hey @NativeJax. I have been looking up BHA this afternoon that would be carried in a drugstore and I am having a hard time finding ones that aren't filled with alcohol or other irritating ingredients. While Stridex doesnt' have alcohol it does have menthol and cleansing agents that are supposed to rinsed and not left on the skin. That defeats the purpose of BHA as it is to be left ont the skin. Of course you are free to use whatever you like. I would recommend Paulas Choice BHA if you can afford it. If you use it without cotton and just use about 5 drops that is enough to cover your skin on face and neck and it is loaded with a lot of soothing ingredients and antioxidants. In the summer I use it as my moisturizer a lot because I don't need on in warm weather because my skin is combo oily and it gets so humid here, I just can't take a moisturizer much of the time. Anyway, hope that stopping those products helps with your pores. I do know that many use an aspirin mask (as that contains salicylic acid (BHA) and leave that on for 30 or so minutes so that may be more budget friendly for you. If you can get the BHA from Paulas Choice I do know that they have discount codes often. HTH!!!
