You're never "too old" for something - if you truly like it and want to wear it, go for it! If you aren't sure if its too much, get falsies that are more natural looking like the demis or wispies that are feathered (versus the straight ones). I personally like Ardell baby wispies because they aren't super obvious and fake looking. Good luck!

At 54, am I too old to wear false lashes? I think they look so pretty on the beauty vloggers I watch on youtube, but most of them are at least 20 years younger than me. I don't really have any problems with my natural lashes, but the false lashes really make the eye pop. What do you think?

You don't have to have false eyelashes that look like Phyllis Diller. You can just supplement your current lashes. I love false lashes. Trust me no one would ever guess I have them. They have so much dimension to your face. As I am blond, my fake lashes as well as mascara is always brown not black. I just look younger and prettier.

I trim false eyelash length with a manicure scissors prior wearing. I really just want thickness rather than length.

Apply the glue with a toothpick, let it get tacky first before applying. Once the glue is dried, you should cover the glue with eye liner if you can see any white, There should be videos out there showing how. Most people don't need to use the full lash,

If you can apply them well and can still see what you're doing... go for it, it's best to use a10x mag mirror.

I can barely get eyeliner and mascara on to look half decent these days!

I am surprised when I go shopping at how many people wear them as just an every-day thing any more! Used to be people wore them primarily for special occasions. I don't think that would have been something I would have ever done. Too much trouble! But for an event that would be nice.

I see so many very young ladies wearing so much heavy eye makeup with the lashes and so much full face makeup these days. I guess its the thing these days. At least around here.

Thanks everyone for you input. I did buy some Ardell very natural looking lashes (not too think or too long) at Ulta this weekend. I tried applying them saturday. I came pretty close to getting it right. I'm off from work for the next 2 weeks so I have plenty of time to practice. I did like the way they looked, really brought out my eyes.
