What stops chapped lips??

Seems every other day my lower lip is dry, and peeling. I stay very hydrated, I don't have dry skin, Ive used my face cream, or night cream on my lips. Tried all different ones. I live in a warm climate, so weather is not an issue. I have to exfoliate my lips in morning to get this chapping off. I've tried many, many lip creams, balms, etc. even eye creams, oils, and although feels soft afterwards, I wake up with dried out peeling lips. I'm not on meds either. Last night I used Skinn 6x, left over from a kit...lips all chapped this morning anyway. After I exfoliate they look beautiful, but by next day, it's starts again. I've always had this problem..I'm starting to think nothing will stop it. What's your thoughts??

I use Carmex at night before I go to bed, and sometimes in the mornings over lipstick. Usually in the mornings and throughout the day, I use a tinted lip balm, such as C.O. Bigelow, Nivea Care and Color, or Burt's Bees.

I had to change the toothpaste I used too. My old ones were burning my lips and causing big cracks on the sides of my mouth. I know-- I must sound like a messy brusher but as soon as I changed toothpaste to a sensitive formula -- no more problems.

I picked up a balm at my naturopath's office that I just love - Eco Lips - I have it in the Coconut flavor (I don't notice any strong flavor at all, it's all natural and organic).

I use it every day, under lipstick or gloss or just alone, and I always use it at night.

Looks like you can get it on Amazon and it comes in all kinds of flavors. I can only vouch for the Coconut as it's the only one I have and I have used it now for a few months.

I've also had dry lips caused by a toothpaste and had to switch. And sometimes anti-aging facial products will dry my lips even though I've never applied it on my lips. I have very sensitive skin so I have to be careful with what I use.

My lips have to be covered with something - always - or else I give in to the bad habit of chewing on them. Lipstick if I'm awake, out and about; any of the many lip balms around the house, desk drawer at work, every purse, etc. otherwise. Clothing with a pocket is my favorite, so I can have a tube of something with me at all times. (I have to be very careful that I don't launder the tube, though.....again!)

You are probably breathing through your mouth while you sleep as well, so drying your lips out. I always have chapstick on me and use it. You can also use a bit of olive oil or oil based lip moisturizer. I live in humid Georgia. Anytime you run the heat, you dry out your house and your skin, even in Florida. If you aren't running your heat, then it won't be a problem.

Try not to lick your lips. I tried Burt's Bees stuff and it's so nice and soothing and my lips are as smooth as a baby's behind. I think. We're talking soft here.

I use a lip balm with beeswax. There are several on the market and I like Burt's Bees the best for portables. Q sells a product...Surgeon's Skin Secret Twist-up Sticks, not the lippies, and they are an excellent choice, too. The Surgeon's sticks last forever! I use them at night before bedtime.

I use Josie Maran's argan balm and Dr. Denese lip therapy and it works for me. I also found that when I want to have color on my lips then I use Doll 10 lip products.

I take medication and have dry, sensitive skin . These are the products that work and last on my lips. I don't exfloiate my lips because I have a ton of allergies and react to just about everything. The balm and therapy have eliminated the need for that step.

I've tried many of the lip products mentioned, was going to recommend IT Cosmetics new lip balm. But I did find it interesting with the mention of toothpaste being a possible culprit, I've used Colgate paste for years (many many years), was having some issues with the gum by a bridge implant I have. The dentist recommended Sensodyne, I had been using that for a while and I'm pretty positive it was around this time that I noticed my lips were better and I didn't needed lip products as much. I'm going to switch again to see if it is the toothpaste, I'm torn though, I would hate to give up Colgate but would love to give up my lip issues. Oh well, guess I can grow to like Crest 😫 - LOL!!!
