How to stop neck cream pilling?

I noticed after I apply my neck cream and rub it in, it begins to pill. So how much of the cream is getting absorbed and how much is removed? Why do some products pill and others no not? I have exfoliated so I don't think it is just dead skin. So annoying, anyone have any answers?

Some of it could be natural exfoliation depending on the ingredients in the cream. I can't imagine why else a cream would pill unless you have powder foundation that you use down there after applying the cream. When I use an after shower powder it always pills wherever I put it but haven't ever had a cream pill up.

Are you using too much?

I would think neck skin to be thinner & more delicate than face or hands.

I have only had this happen with Prai. My neck looked all boogered after using their neck cream. I had to throw it away.

The same thing happens to me with the Strivectin neck cream. It's annoying and looks awful. I need to find something that doesn't do that. It looks like crud!

I don't think there is any excuse for pilling cream from anyone for any purpose. From now on I'm returning it. My last error was Philosophy Miracle Worker, the newest version. Pills badly, I'm going back to the original. I think it has something to do with silicone combining or not combining with another ingredient. If these companies know there is an issue putting their product over or under something else, they should let us know instead of just playing dumb. Sometimes I feel like a lemming blindly jumping off a cliff. Time to rebel.

It depends on ingredients used or a combination of ingredients. Some things pill on their own and some pill after when using over or under another product.

Are you using the cream on bare skin or over a serum? If on bare skin, I'd recommend trying less, then switching creams if that doesn't work. If you are using it over a serum, try it alone and see if that gives you a different result. If it does, you can try alternating serum and cream so you apply one in the AM and one in the PM or replace the product you like the least.

I think it has to do with the tightening film forming ingredients. I know with the SKINN Nutrilift the directions say not to rub the skin after the product is absorbed. Try app!ying with upward strokes and when it starts being absorbed switch to patting it into the skin until fully absorbed.

I find less is more with many skincare creams- face, eye, neck- all of them! So I use very little product to start off with and there's no balling.

Pouducts with firming and lift properties tend to pill. I think it happens most when I layer products.

Hi Ladies. I am 52 and swear by my Josie Maran body butter on my neck. It's a great moisturizer and I'm sure probably keeps the wrinkles at bay. Try it . It's a lot cheaper then buying seperate neck cream and moisturizer and absolutely no pilling involved. Yuck!

Layering products will defintiely do it!! I use a serum- then moisturizer. But I give the serum time to absorb fully.

You might want to try a light application of either a serum, argan oil, rose hip oil.....or anything similar that you have at home. Let it soak in for a few minutes, then apply your cream. Worth a try!
