Hi, qvc-loyal,

I had my acrylics removed after several years of wearing them, and my nails hurt even if they accidentally grazed the kitchen countertop. I kept my nails trimmed very short, and Nailtiques Formula 2 worked for me -- so did Nailtiques Formula 2 Plus. (I still wear the Formula 2.) It's in my local Publix grocery store with the nail polish, so I hope you can find it easily. What a relief when my nails finally grew out. I am glad I am free from the constant need for chip repairs and fill-ins. But they did look pretty!

Keep them very short, use cuticle cream and oils. Buff lightly once a week for circulation. I've heard pros and cons regarding using something on nails after acrylics. I had them for years and then did silk wraps and then did gels....my nails were destroyed. After talking to many and visiting nail boards, I chose to allow them to breathe and use moisture on the cuticle to encourage growth and hydration. I kept them as short as possible and when I saw new growth, filed them gently back to super short. It didn't take long for them to look and feel healthy (a month or so). I didn't wear polish for a year after that; instead I purchased the Ruby Nail System at HSN.

My nails looked amazing, were healthy as could be and I started wearing polish a year later. Never looked back. Good luck to you. Everyone is different; hopefully you'll find the best solution for your nails very quickly. : )
