topic NexGen Nails in Beauty

Has anyone tried these? I'm two weeks into my second NexGen mani. I love this product! It lasts longer than gel nails (shellac) without the exposure to UV light. In fact, because they are fortified with Vitamin C & calcium, they are said to be good for your nails. Removal (in the salon) was fairly easy. My nails were not damaged at all. I think I'm in love!

Has anyone been wearing this product for longer than a couple of months? I'm wondering if there are any drawbacks that I've yet to see. So far, I have no complaints. They last as long as you can stand the grow out-- Fir me, it was three weeks before I had my first mani redone.

Hey @Vamp are you talking about the process that looks kind of similar to acrylic but they dip your nail in the powder? I thought that was less like Shellac and more like acrylics? Maybe I am thinking of something totally different?

Hi Irshgrl, long time no see.

Yes, that is exactly the product I am talking about. It is much thinner than acrylic, but thicker than old-fashioned polish. I never liked the thickness of acrylics, but I can handle them being a tiny bit thick. My only beef is the salon I go to could have a better color selection, but I imagine that will improve as time goes on. I'm really happy with my nails.

I just got my first set of nails with this process. One nail popped off before I had them on a week. I do like they way they look. I'll give it another try. It will be 2 weeks on Saturday. My shellac lasts at least 3 weeks or longer. But shellac is harder on my nails.

The product is removed by wrapping the nails in acetone-soaked cotton and then foil, leave it on for about 10 minutes, and it slides right off.

It it is neither a fake nail nor a polish. I think you can glue on tips like they do with acrylic nails, but I didn't have that done. It is just applied directly onto the nail, no tips. They apply a clear, wet product to the nail, then you dip your finger into a powder. This is done twice, then they put on some kind of top coat and buff it. It is not wet like polish is, nor is it fully dry like a shellac. You have to wait maybe 5 minutes for it to set, then you are good to go. It feels like a thin acrylic but it doesn't damage your nails. I totally love it!!

I watched the video and thought the tech did a sloppy job. They still use a dremel on sensitive nail beds. The only difference is there is no curing light. They still need to be soaked off with acetone.

How can anyone go for 2 or 3 weeks without visible nail growth?
