Can anyone tell me what this styler for $70 does that makes it worth that money instead of the one you can buy at Walmart for $26? I am seriously interested in knowing. I tried her hot curlers but had to return them as they would not stay in my hair.

Nothing really. I was a sucker and bought it months ago. It didn't really give me lift or curl. Also, if you have long hair or really wavy hair it would take you forever. If you watch the presentation they use a very small amount of hair and she goes over the same piece three times. If you had to use it at that rate with thick or longer hair, it would take you two hours.

Ty - I have short hair but I can make it look pretty nice with just my walmart one so I was pondering what this one does that is so special. My hair is poker straight and difficult to curl and I noticed that she seems to have to hold the curler in the models hair for a long time, so I'm thinking I would have to go over & over on my hard to curl hair.

I really, really wish they would bring out a model with freshly washed, stick straight hair and do something with this Perfector.

Every single model sits out there with hair that is already styled and they run the perfector through it.

I have very fine poker straight hair and this did absolutely nothing for me at all. It didn't even give my hair any bend that stayed.

In my opinion it is worth the extra cost for the following reasons:

i

1. Barrel does not get hot on your scalp or hands when you are trying to wrap your hair on the barrel because the Calista has a denser brush.

2. Due to the denser brush it is easier to get shorter hair to wrap on the barrel. My hair a little bit lower than my ears.

My only complaint is my previous Calista Perfector stopped working. I wonder if it due to being in a checked in suitcase. I purchased a 29 dollar one at Walmart and although it gets hot, it burns my hands and scalp. Also, difficult to wrap my hair around the barrel.

Hope this helps.

This Perfector has been a life saving tool for me. I had 2 spinal cord surgeries in my neck, and have complications after.

Fixing my hair is exhausting and terribly painful. The Perfector let's me style my short hair in 3 minutes!!!! This is a blessing. I simply roll it in and slowly continue the roll. It picks up the hair giving lift and style, without burning it.

Viola it stay puffed up with volume and style.

My hair texture is thin, fine hair that is dyed to cover my gray.

My walmart styler does not get overly hot and burn me, It dries my hair as it curls it because warm air blows through it, and has various size brushes I can chose which I like that day.It sounds like I am better off with what I already have.

I would find the demos much more believeable if the models did not have either naturally curly hair or body waved hair. They NEVER use them on perfectly straight hair, and they never show it from beginning to end so we can see how long it takes to do a complete style. For all we know those already styled models could have been styled with hot curlers or some other product. When I don't feel the demos are honest it makes me mistrust the ability of the product to do as they say it does.

The Calista product isn't a blow dryer...so comparing it to something that blows hot air doesn't make sense.

I purchased this this to replace a similar type of device (different brand) and this is a great price compared to what I paid for the other one.

What bothers me about her presentation is she keeps saying it doesn't get hot and burn your hair (see, I can touch it and not burn my hands). Have you ever touched inside the bristles (the part that actually touches your hair) OUCH - VERY, VERY HOT on your hair. I find that so disengenuous.

I use the Perfector every day, I am not looking for curl. All straight hair people have many, many products to help produce curl, the products have been around for decades The Perfector has simplied my life in a matter of minutes I am able to get rid of frizz. It makes my curly frizzy hair become more Human. I am completely grateful for the product, the creator has the similar hair type as mine, curly and frizzy. Wish I would have had the Perfector in my teen years because some people bully us people with frizzy curly hair. Thank-you Marie for making the Perfector, I consider it a blessing!

Straightening products are so hard on hair and this does not damage hair.
