Mally's Mousse Consistency?

Can anyone who uses this tell me what the consistency should be like? I ordered it for the first time during the Ovarian Cancer event and used it today. I expected it to be a creamy "mousse" consistency, but it came out as a runny liquid and made a mess.

I tried shaking the little container to see if that made any difference, but it didn't and I could hear it splashing around inside - very liquid!

Is this the normal consistency or did I just get a bad product? I'm not sending it back, as it's for charity, but I'd like to know for the future. TIA.

I bought this product also. It dispenses like a foamy liquid. I thought like you did that it was defective but then I took a close look at the product video, and it's a foamy liquid. I love the foundation for summer. I can't even feel it. Powders are too drying, liquids too goopy, and the cream ones feel thick and cloying on my skin. The coverage looks natural, and if I need a bit more coverage in one area I just dab on a bit more. I will buy this again.

@SunValley - Thanks so much for your reply. Mine isn't even a foamy liquid, it's more just a "runny" liquid. It dripped all over the container and I had to clean that up. But I'll persevere with it. Maybe I just got off to a bad start and, if I shake it before I use it, it will improve.

I agree with @SunValley. I ordered this when she first brought it to QVC a year or two ago. It's a really nice foundation, and it leaves my skin feeling wonderful. While standing in line one time, a woman complimented me, asked me what I was wearing, and wrote the info for QVC down so she could get some! It is a foamy liquid - more liquid than foam. I usually wear Light, and that shade is OK, but during the event I ordered Light-Medium. It just came this week and I haven't tried the new shade yet. I always shake it before I dispense it on the back of my hand!

@Venezia @beach-mom yes you need to give the can a good shake before use. I wonder if she is phasing this product out. I can't find it anywhere other than the dark shades from the charity event at Q. Where else have you found it? I wear the light shade.

I haven't seen it at Ulta; I've only seen it here. I don't think Mally has a whole lot to say about her line any longer, which is a shame. I'm REALLY upset the Face Defender is going. Beauty Visions, Inc. and their manager Grace Eilenberg (who came from L'Oreal) are going to change the way the products are chosen. They'll probably keep the best sellers and let go of the rest. I imagine too the prices will go up. With Mally, we got quality.

Mally is just a spokesperson for "her" line.

I bought her mousse, too, @Venezia, and no, you didn't get a bad product. Mine was the same way: watery and made a big mess. The shade was bad. I wouldn't order it again. I figure it's for charity,too, but most vendors try to give something nice. It has no "consistency."

Thanks to all of you for replying. It's good to get an idea of other's experiences and opinions, especially with a new product (for me). I'm going to keep using it to see if it gets easier.

It says on the little info slip to dispense it into the palm of your hand, but I think I'm going to switch to the back of my hand. I think that will help. It was just too messy on my palm and I noticed, when it was shown on air, that it was put on the back of the hand.

I hope it isn't something I'm going to end up liking, only to have it discontinued.

@Venezia I put it on the back of my hand too. I have a feeling I should have stocked up...sigh. Wish I had found this sooner. Maybe her recent liquid foundation is the replacement. Will have to wait and see. I hope yours works for you.

@SunValley - I don't know which shade of this you ordered, but the medium is now showing in stock. No way of knowing how many they have, but it's there at the moment.

I'm getting used to using it now that I know it's the consistency it should be and I do like the way it goes on.
