Has anyone tried Drunk Elephant skincare products......your thoughts please!

I am still looking for skincare products for my ultra sensitive, mature dry dehydrated skin. This is the first skincare line I have seen get almost all 5 star reviews on Beautypedia and excellent review on other sites. The prices aren't bad either.

If anyone has used anything fron this line I sure would appreciate your thoughts about it.

Hi. I love the vit c serum. My skin is brighter and more even toned since I started it. It uses a pump which I like. I got a little pink the first few times I used it but I was also using a retinol. I started every other day for a week and then increased it to daily with no problems.

I also love the marula oil and use it over retinol or the night serum. It is very gentle and sinks into my skin.

Lippe is excellent, keeps lips moisturized and soft.

I use the glycolic serum a few times a week. It is less irritating than others but if you have sensitive skin, it may irritate it. I haven't used it long enough to give an opinion.

I like the sunscreen which is heavy on zinc. I only use physical sunscreens. Too much gives a white cast. I haven't been in the sun that much yet, so I can't vouch for its efficacy. It has skincare ingredients in it also and it gives a nice glow to my skin.

I use isomer products as well, but these products are keepers for me.

YES!!! This is my new favorite skincare line! I use the 2 bar "soaps" (day and night), I use the Vitamin C serum every morning and I use the Glycolic serum every night. I also love the Lippie (although it's very very small!) I bought the soaps at Sephora (trial size) but will definitely buy the full sizes soon The packaging is excellent, too. Love, love, love!

Unfortunately, my skin reacted very badly to their Vit C serum, so I returned it. But that's just a personal experience on my part and no reflection on the line itself.

I have used their Marula oil after I read somewhere that it was better than Argon oil. Who knows? But I really liked it. I would order other products but it's going to be well into the 100s here in Phoenix for the next few months and I can't take a chance on what would happen during delivery.

If you check out Beautypedia, you will find reviews for Drunk Elephant. They are very good. It does seem like the products are expensive. Personally, I love most of Paula's Choice products, animal free testing, fragrance free, color free, and 60 day guarantee. I've been using them since 1995.

If you live close to a Sephora, they carry the line so you can get samples to try before buying. I haven't tried any of their products but the Sephora rep recommended their C Firma Day serum when I was asking about a vitamin C serum earlier this week.

The Vitamin C serum made me break out. I have super finicky skin so I wasn't surprised or disappointed.

I never tried anything else.

I had to return the C serum because it really irritated my skin, mostly on my nose.

I have been using the white cleansing bar, the Vitamin C serum, and the glycolic serum (rotating with PC 2% BHA) for the past couple of months and my skin looks amazing. I haven't strayed from Paula's Choice in over 10 years and am glad I found something even better...except the price tag of course.

I am using the vit c serum and like it. I use it every second or third day. Too soon to speak to any results. So, we will see if it is a repurchase. It is pricey. A little too pricey but if it clears up some dark spots, it will be worth it.

It's one of the better brands to have launched over the last two years in my opinion. The Vit C serum is fantastic as is the glycolic one for night time. I have their Marula Oil and while it's great, I prefer the African Botanics version (Neroli infused). The SPF product leaves a bit of a white cast on my face so I don't use it much but found it is much more user friendly when mixed with the Vit C serum. The latest cream in a jar (Lala Retro) is pretty unique in a sense that it's so rich, almost balm like, yet sinks into my combination skin without a trace and delivers superb continuous moisture with significant firming benefits.

For anyone with an opinion on the name and not the product, please understand that it refers to elephants who get in a hazy state after eating the leaves off a Marula tree (similar to what Eucalyptus does to koala bears). It's not like the founders is promoting excessive drinking lol. I find the name cute.

Drunk Elephant has gotten its name from a myth that elephants loe to eat the fruit that has fallen from the Marula trees. Once eaten fermentation occurs in their bellies which makes them appear to be drunk. This line is non toxic. BTW, Paula gives this line very good reviews.

Thanks to all for your replies. The last time I was at our Sephora, we only have one where I live, I didn't see the line there but I plan to look harder the next time I go. It sounds like a good skincare line. If I can't get samples I think I will try a couple of their products since I can always return since I am that desparate!

I knew about the elephants after reading about them on the Drunk Elephant website. I got a kick out of it......the elephants get a little"high" after eating the leaves from the plant that makes the oil. Can you imagine a drunk elephant, LOL!!

Once again, thanks for your replies. Now I need to get some samples. I have never seen a skincare line get so many excellent reviews all over the internet!

I use the B-Hydra gel. I'm not sure if it's doing anything but I like the light consistency. I mix it with Kiehl's Midnight Recovery serum at night. In the morning I use it under my eyes before makeup. I don't know if I'm going to repurchase it after I'm done. But I LOVE the packaging. It's so neat! The nozzle twists up & down. You have to see it to understand, but it keeps it very neat.
