I always take a tissue/paper towel and blot the wand end between my fingers to remove all the excess mascara. I get much better definition and no clumps when I do it that way. The first time you do it, you may have to blot several times to get rid of the excess that has built up on it.

I need suggestions for a mascara with a thin brush applicator. IT's mascara doesn't work for me as the brush is too thick and I end up with too much product on my lashes. I don't want the spidery look and wondered if anyone has a great suggestion.

Maybelline Lash Discovery has a very thin wand. I use it and really like the formula. I buy mostly prestige cosmetics but when it comes to mascara, I'm a Maybelline girl.

CoverGirl Super Sizer. If you are getting too much product on the wand, wipe of the excess before applying.

IT's Tightline mascara has a thin brush. It can be used as a stand alone product or mascara primer. These days I'm using the Doll 10 Effortlash. The brush is slightly bigger than some of the more narrow mascara brushes out there, but the bristles are short and allow me to get to the base of my lashes. I get nice length and fullness, no clumpy spider lashes.

Maybelline Big Eyes Mascara

It's double-ended...thin on one and thick on the other. Suppose to use the thin one on your lower lashes but I use it on uppers as well. It doesn't make my lashes look spider-y. I would post a pic here...but I don't know how

OP, when you find a mascara brush that you love, save it and toss the tube when you're done. You can use the "favorite" brush by 'striking' it against the brush of the new mascara that way you won't get too much product on the brush and it probably won't fit in the new tube anyway. Wipe it and wash it when you're done.

I also agree about wiping off the excess mascara so you don't get spider lashes and clumps.
