I'm curious if any of you have tried both lines, and if so, which one do you prefer and WHY? I'm interested to know if one produces better results than the other, and if so what those results are.

I understand many of you may not like PTR because his line is not cruelty-free, and while I certainly understand that position, I'm hoping that responses can focus more on the effectiveness of the products, as I am trying to decide which line might be better for my skin.

Thank you in advance for your feedback. Aloha!!

Aloha! I've only tried Dr. D's Hydroshield and it actually made my skin drier than it already is. I'm sure reading customer reviews will help, and of course answers you'll receive from your posted question.

I prefer PTR. I don't think Dr. D's products are that efficacious. IMO

I tried Dr. D's Hydroshield serum when she first came on QVC and decided her line wasn't for the oily-skinned gals like me. The serum was just too sticky for my skin and made it feel greasy. Now that I'm pushing 60, my skin is a lot less oily but I still have an oily t-zone and still wouldn't choose to use Hydroshield. I feel this is definitely a normal-to-dry skin product. Although there is retinol in Hydroshield, I don't think Dr. D reveals the percentage, so it's a mystery exactly how much retinol is in the product. With my oily skin, I haven't tried her night creams. I used to use her tinted day cream but unless I have a tan, it's a bit too dark for my skin tone. Her day cream is nice, it reminds me of the BB/CC creams that are popular now.

I'm presently using PTR retinol serum and his retinol eye cream and like both products very much. The retinol serum has a very watery consistency so it's easy to smooth on the skin and dries down nicely, no sticky feeling. The eye cream is very thick and a little goes a long way, comes in a pump dispenser and I only use a partial pump each night. I'm also using the PTR CC cream and like it well enough but it dries down to a radiant finish and can make my face look shiny in the summer heat/humidity unless I use a powder foundation over it.

At the same time I started using PTR's retinol products, I also incorporated Paula's Choice 2% BHA liquid and Alpha Hydrox Intensive Serum (14% glycolic AHA). The combined use of these three products, the retinol serum, BHA serum and AHA serum is making a steady improvement in my skin smoothness and softness and helping to decrease the pore size around my nose (a problem area with my oily t-zone).

PTR Retinol Night Serum is my favorite. I am mid 50s and oil skin, but I do use Hydroshield, esp in the winter months. The key is to just use a very small amount, and let it soak in completly. I have a huge bottle of Dr. D's Hydrating Cleanser and I like that too. I also like PTR cleansers. So I guess I like them both, but he gets the nod on the retinol.

I currently use a number of PTR the Rential night stuff, the laser line (red) I really like them. Also at night use his ult. rich moisturizer which I got on sale or would not spend that kind of money. I am seriously looking at Dr. Denese's products. I have been hearing so much about her stuff and I am very tempted to try it.

I would choose Peter Thomas Roth. Peter's products are very expensive, but his line is sold at online sites which offer decent coupons and his own website often offers specilal prices and discounts. His Cucumber products have been in his line a long time and are go to products for me when my skin feels tired and stressed. My face feels as revived as after a series of spa facials when I go Cumcumber for a week or so. I also like his Un-Wrinkle products, Acne Spot treatment, and his Anti-Aging Cleanser and Anti-Aging Buffing Beads.
