One of the nice things about Evine is that they list their ingrediants online, so that anyone who is interested is able to read them before buying.

The before and afters on skin tone were nice. I did not see much of a difference in the puffy eyes, but they used a model with serious puffs: not just the morning type.

The host mentioned something to the effect that she had been considering a procedure and how Sonya's products had helped her. I thought she said the same thing a few weeks ago about Skinn. I don't mind hosts using more than one line (I do) but . . .

The masks and peels looked interesting to me. I remember loving an Aloette (enzyme type gel) peel from way back when I could get it cheap on one of the Southern channels that no longer sells beauty.

The sizes were small, I have been buying a bit of skincare lately, so this is going to fall into the "I can't buy everything catagory".

I hope that anyone who purchases will review.

New skin care line offered on the other shopping channel. Sounds very interesting and little similar to other ingredients. Any thoughts????

Thanks

Odd pricing. Some kits are in the $70 range and individual items are priced up to $175.00 each.

I tried a trial kit quite a number of years ago and I really liked the products. I believe she has revamped her line and these products are different than the ones I tried. I did order one of the kits from Evine and am looking forward to trying it.

Just based on her professional reputation, I would not.

She is known for grossly overcharging people. I mean grossly. Her reviews are horrible both inside and outside the industry. I know people who have been charged for trying to change the date of the appt. They require CC info to book appt and when they called to change the appt they moved the appt date for the appt but also charged them a fee ($200) for missing the first appt and then the fee for the actual facial. They didn't notice until they got their CC statement later that month and were not told they would be charged for moving the appt. I could see if they did it last minute but this was done almst one month in advance. I have heard about countless people who booked an appt for a facial that cost a certain amount and then when they went to check out and pay, they tried to charge them well over the amount. Some over by almost $1500. When they refused the police were called but thankfully it went in their favor. I have heard this countless times, too many to think it was exception. Your staff doesn't behave like that if they know it isn't acceptable so it must be acceptable to her to run her business like that.

@Irshgrl31201

I have been to Sonya's salon and had a great experience. But I was also with someone they hold in high, high regard if you know what I mean.

In regards to the reviews , being fair, yes...they do charge and I think I know why. Her salon is held in high regard with the Hollywood poobahs. There is a lot of coverage now and then in local papers about the list of who is who, and by that alone people want to go there. Cancellations happens all the time because people who really can't afford it book, then get second thoughts and cancel last minute. Since they are booked solid, and many of the estheticians are sort of self employed (rent chairs) their policy is to charge for cancellations within 24 to 48 hours. Hey even my Doctor does that.

Irish I think as esthetician you should know how it is when you have bookings, and you have a waiting list , then someone calls and cancels last minute. This is for first bookings usually. They usually do not charge if you are a client (after initial visit) Because first bookings are famous for no shows in high end salons. Same for hair salons.

As for ther service, it is impecible, at least when I was there. The products? Okay. I stick to my Perricone! However, if people wonder when they watch the Golden Globes and Oscars how Rene Z, gweneth P and Jennifer get that shiny, glow....that is Sonya. However, I am sure many salons can do the same. As for the cost, it is par with Beverly Hills and the clientele they cater too and seek. Overpriced> Well IMO anything over 10 bucks for a facial is too much...I hate them! LOL!

Beverly Hills is a different world (but she may have a new salon elsewhere)+ Geesh, I paid 450 dollars once at Jose Eber's for my granddaughter. Her hair was waist length at the time. She had cut, low light, highlights and a style. Do you know those salons charge 60 bucks for a blow dry after they cut and tint? Then 50 for curls and an iron? Yikes,

So anyway, that is my two cents from my experience and from what I know from the salon gossip, LOL!

Hey @shoekitty, sorry it took me so long to answer.

I am usually not one to go by gossip about things like this because it is usually just that, gossip. However there does reach a level when you hear it so often, that you know where there is smoke, there is fire. Knowing people that experienced this as well, well I know it is true. Ive heard her celeb clients get the star treatment while others, not so much. That is also not unusual but I find it gross.

As for the cancellation that was charged, it wasn't even a cancellation, she moved the appt and she did it weeks before the appt, they were given plenty of time. In addition to being charge for both the "cancellation" and the actual facial, she wasn't even told that was happening. I have a big issue with that. I have no problem with a stylist or esthetician charging for a cancellation when no notice or very little notice is given, because I myself dislike that very much. I also have no issue with how much a stylist or esthetician charges as long as that charge is known prior to the appt. If someone wants to charge $5,000 for service that most would charge $500 for and they have people willing to pay that, God Bless them and good for them. That isn't my issue at all, my issue is changing that what was originally agreed upon. If you have someone who answers your phone and gives someone wrong info, that is the them and the salon, not the person making the appt. I am pretty positive anyone going to see her isn't thinking they are going to get out of there without dropping at least $1,000 not including products so I don't think anyone is going to make an issue over a couple hundred bucks. When the employee that gave the lady a quote admitted to that and giving her that number (amount of services) and that number STILL wasn't honored and they tried to charge more and called the police when she refused, well that is just wrong.

This is MY opinion of her and her business practices. i certainly wouldn't spend anything on any of her products knowing that. However, if you like her then you should continue to go to her. My opinion should not affect that at all.

@Irshgrl31201 Wow, that is very disappointing to hear. Edited to add: I did a google search for reviews on the spa (as opposed to the products). You weren't kidding.

@MarieIG where do you find the reviews for the spa?
