Look, most people have something they're willing to spend more on or treat themselves with. So what if it's a lipstick? Lots of people spend loads of money on handbags, clothes, shoes, getting their hair cut and colored, etc. I spend a lot of money on books, yarn, and nail polish. I'm not going to judge others for whatever it is they choose on which to splurge.

Most Tom Ford lipsticks are $52. Guerlain Rouge G lipsticks are $54. Loubiton lipsticks are $90. There's a market for super high-end lipsticks. It's not your market, and that's cool. No reason to make people who would feel bad, which is what threads like this do.

I wouldn't, but I wouldn't spend money on lots of things other people spend their money on.

But I guarantee you, lots of people would cringe if they looked at my spending habits.

I have troublesome, difficult skin on and around my lips ( too many years as a clarinet player) and I always purchase specialty lip colors, and NEVER spend more that $10.

@Double-DI said in another post that I wouldn't spend the $55, but now I'm looking at your post again and wondering, do you think because the brand is sold on QVC it might not be as good as lipsticks sold elsewhere for that price? That hasn't been my experience with QVC products, so if you're willing to spend $55 on lipstick, here is as good a place as any.

Actually I think the OP is referring to Tatcha. I wanted to purchase it -but being it is pretty much summer temps here now- I can no longer order lipsticks online.

No, most of us wouldn't, however the person promoting it would (LR)! I received the email as well, and it is a brand sold on QVC. LR "happens" to be good friends with the lovely woman. You can see the post on her FB page.

I have spent fifty dollars with a Lipstick Queen lipstick. Was it worth it? Absolutely NOT!

I have noticed a lot of companies have raised the price of lipsticks lately. Funny thing is the L'Oreal lipsticks that are 5.99 at Walmart are just as nice. I just need to stock up....

Fran Wilson Mood Matcher lipsticks used to be on the Q years ago. They are a much more affordable option. If you are interested, they are still available through other retailers. Under $30 for 10 lipsticks.
