recomendations? MU mirrors?

I searched the forums and didn't come up with very recent posts ? The hinge broke on my ancient I believe Clairol one that has served me well. I need magnification and my old one had the regular on the flip side.

I have checked out a few b&m stores but haven't seen much quality. They are mostly poor quality plastic. I saw one on HSN this a.m. but it is small.

@okaywitheasypay Are you looking for one that will sit on a counter/vanity or one that gets mounted to the wall?

I bought this one from Lowe's a few years ago and mounted it myself. It's basic, no lighting, but I don't need it, regular magnification on one side and 5X on the other, which I think is plenty for my situation.

Mine doesn't even have the name on it, but whatever they sell at BB&B.

I have 2 of them and love them. One is oval and one is round. They are lighted, but I never plug them in as it's sunny and bright where I put on my makeup. In fact, I cut the cord off of one.

I know most people say to stay away from magnifying mirrors, but I think the opposite. I love to be able to see close up of my skin. That may change with age though!

Try BB&B. I bought mine years ago on sale at Nordstroms and love it .... plain on one side and a 10x magnification on the other.

I just replaced mine last month with a new Conair from BBB. I really wanted the Floxide mirror but wanted to stick to my budget. I looked on line and really didn't see much and the reviews were mixed. I was glad that I went to the store because the difference in quality was amazing. Some are plastic or metal or some composite and some require special bulbs. Who knew? Good Luck with your search.

I bought the Floxite travel mirror V31363 from Q years ago when it was a OTO. It folds flat for easy travel. It has a 10x on 1 side & a 1 x on the other side. Now Q sells V32466 which only has a 5x mirror.

I also had the smaller one like this. I don't recommend it. The arm that bends to close it has wiring in it for the lights that kept getting a kink & would not work. DH took it apart to fix it but the wire was too short to twist it back together.

My problem with makeup mirrors is that the light isn't bright enough. I've tried a lot of them, but always return in favor of my 35 year old one...but I know someday it's going to stop working, so I keep searching. Do the Floxites have really good light? Thanks!

Love the Floxite mirrors. I have a good size 7x that I have on my bathroom mirror and several of the hand held ones that are 10x, as well as one with lights.

The quality has been excellent. I use them at home, office and travel.

I tried another brand once and returned it immediately.

I was thinking of getting Joy Mangano's version because it was the lights, simulating daylight, but for use in conjunction with the mirror you already have! There was also a 10x magnifying mirror attached. Seemed so practical and the design made sense but it's no longer on the website

Any thoughts on the one they're selling today as the TS? 2 for under $45 seems like a steal if it's a decent product!

@Andreatoo Thanks for mentioning this one. I had a look, and I REALLY like the floral one. The design of the larger one looks somewhat similar to the one Nightowl didn't recommend. For me, that one would be for travel and not daily use so I wonder if it would be OK. Another thing I noticed in the description is that the mirrors are 1x and 5x. I don't see anything about a 10x.

I don't recall the TS magnification but the fact that the JM lighting could be used with your existing mirror and THEN you had the magnifying (10x) as well? Seemed the ideal design. I was considering the TS but it seems awfully small and when I googled makeup mirrors to see what else was available, and prices, apparently size does matter! lol There's about a gazillion choices so I think I'm heading to BB & B to check a few out..Target carries quite a few different ones too..

I was just reading here, @JeanLouiseFinch and thought I'd chime in. I recently picked up a Swissco ( a HL Event that you referred us to during a Skinn event awhile back). I love mine. It's 5" 1X one side/7X alternate side. Chrome and solid as a rock. Stays where you put it angle-wise. Since you were looking for travel use, I thought of it right away. Looks like this:

Swissco also has a 6" version (10X) on their site. Another option!

I'll look it up. Thanks @Gokat I don't have any big travel plans until the first week of June so I have a little time to shop.

My favorite is V32468, available here Q. I've used it for years (10+?) With no problems. I like it so much that I bought another when Q brought it back after a long aabsence so I'd have a spare just in case.

I have several Floxite mirrors, they are my favorite.

The Q doesn't have the ones that I have anymore but this one is close A245088.

Mine is a 15X and you can see everything. I don't need a light because I have a window for light.

I have the fold-up one for travel. Then another that has two mirrors, the one comes out and also a pair of tweezers.

Then the fold-up one but it is also 15X but looks like the one here.
