58! Finding no matter what brand of makeup, High end or Drugstore! Settles in pores and wrinkles. My skin excellent condition. Use Clarisonic, Yes use primer. Fact is!! Look better without foundation or powder. Still using Mascara & Lippies. Do fill brows in lightly. But! When it comes to Full face makeup-Eye shadows foundation ete, When I first apply looks fine. Then as the day proceeds look in natural light!!! Omy!!! Awful!!! Anyone else? Experience this. By the way, Never uses heavy hand with application. So it's not that. Motta in life! Less is more. Starting to feel especially aging skin. Thanks! For any feedback.💋

Well, I'm 65 and only used foundation for a few years in my 30s. My normally beautiful skin broke out and a dermatologist told me to lighten up on facial creams and makeup. I did and it cleared.

Foundation -- no matter what kind -- was never my friend. I don't have many wrinkles now, and find that a bit of blush, lipstick and filling in my eyebrows works for me. Eyeliner and any colored shadows never worked for me. I look punched in the eye!

If I go out in the evening, I add a little highlighter to my lids/brows and mascara.

My life was always too active to fuss with too much makeup.

I'm thankful that my skin is still great and really, all the makeup in the world isn't going to do anything for me except waste my money.

I'm 63 and about 3 years ago I started using Perricone No Foundation Foundation (original not the serum) and No Concealer Concealer. My skin has never looked better and more natural. One day my boyfriend's daughter was sitting next to me and casually commented "You have the most amazing skin". That says it all for me as I have known her since she was little. Since I have discovered the No Eyeshadow Eyeshadow which is really no color but is an excellent primer and now the around the eye crepiness is smoothed out with or without any colored eyeshadow. It is a small bottle but you have to use so little it lasts longer than many larger foundations and in the end not as costly as it seems. It many not work for everyone but for the OP it might be worth a try.

Sounds like you are blessed with nice skin! I keep seeing the commercial for CG with Sophia Vergara and Ellen and CG has a couple foundation formulas which is supposed to address this very issue. It supposedly "floats" over the lines and doesn't sink in. Maybe this would work.

I'll be 58 this April. Going through the same thing as you. Everytime I'd try new foundation, I would look in the mirror, and say Yes this is the one ! Then anywhere from an hour or more later, I look again and terrible. I got to the point where I was saying to myself no more foundation - I will just use a little concealer and be done with it. But I've always liked cosmetics, and would see something else and give it a try. Got so sick of spending more money, giving up, trying again, and then back on the same cycle of buying, not liking, swearing off foundation, and then trying again.

So - what I am using now and will buy again when I use it up, is Bare Essentials Complexion Rescue. Its sort of a combo of foundation and tinted moisterizer. Looks great all day. No settling in lines, no changing color. I am so happy that I gave this one a try. I finally found something I really like for my face.

Thanks so much @Witchy Woman, I am 78 and breaking out with acne type pimples. I have noticed everytime I use JM foundation I break out, this has been happening since Oct. I never had any type of pimples even when I was young. I have tried everything I can think of to clear it up and sort of traced it down to my JM foundation .Never thinking it was any type of Josie's products.I was a dedicated JM gal. and it breaks my heart not to use it .It always looked so natural on me,like no make up. Your post confirms what I thought is the culprit. Do powder foundations do this too? I have stopped using anything on my face except a little of " It's" new face cream and I am doing well so far.I use a liquid blush stain on my lips and cheeks.

Hi MalteseMomma,

I ventured into mineral powders long ago and, oh goodness, I looked like the Tin Man! Just awful no matter how light I applied it. Got the special little short brush to "tap and swirl" and....still looked awful.

Sometimes in the summer if I am going out in the evening, I will give a quick swipe with Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess bronzer or my Italian Marble powder that is ancient now. I cannot remember the man who used to sell it on HSN, but he's long gone and I still have his compacts. Gosh, he may be dead by now

I think everyone is different, and I AM blessed with great skin (thanks to an Italian mother), but I just don't think foundation helps me look any better. Even concealers end up looking bad. I think the Estee Lauder products I used to use were just too rich for my young skin. There are so many great products now, I'm not sure if I would still break out.

Now, I'm just to lazy to apply all that stuff and, honestly, I like my face without it anyway.

Was it Jerome Alexander? I still have a "train case" for make-up from him! I loved his make-up.

Yes, that was him. He was a striking man, although a bit full of himself. I'm sure he was a stunner in his youth. I bought two of the Italian Marble powders and still have a full one.

I saw him briefly on the old ShopNBC, but then he disappeared again. His things were nice, but I didn't venture far from that one powder.

Yes, he was very nice looking!!!! He brought marble make-up on the market years ago!!! Many years ago!!! So eventually everything makes their way back! Like Lauren Hutton and her make up! She was one of the first who brought "contouring" to make-up. I kind of laugh when make-up artist say they are the "first" to bring this to marketing!!!
