Calling eyelash growth experts

Last year, I saw an old photo of the young me. My eyelashes were really beautiful. Long and thick. I never wore mascara!

What happened? At 65, they are still OK, but not what they used to be.

Most serums I've found got bad or mediocre reviews by Paula's Choice. I realize she is not the end all of reviews, but at least it's a starting point.

Even Isomers (which I use) got a tepid review.

I've used Smart Lash off and on and I've resolved to use my supply nightly.

But, I would appreciate any suggestions for products that work.

I'll be 64 soon and I use Rimmel Lash Accelerator (not the mascara, this is a clear formula). I use it for both my lashes and brows - works! I have found it only two places, K-mart or Walmart.com. It is less than $10 and it is very worth it. Kathie Lee Gifford recommends Rapid Lash and Rapid Brow - but I didn't want to spend that much. I then use Loreal Voluminous Superstar mascara which has a primer end and a mascara end - my lashes look great for my age.

Yes, I have that in my Drugstore.com cart.

FYI, it is on sale for a around $6. You might want to stock up.

I was going to try this, but they also have a lot of other products with decent reviews and higher prices.

I would go for the Rapid Lash, but find it for a much better price on ebay.

I swear by Isomers eyelash protein or the Isomers stem genesis for lashes. One tube lasts at least 3 months and it took quite a while to really notice the difference, but for me, wow - I've got lashes like I had in my 20's and 30's. They are long and thick and when I put mascara on (which is very rare), I'm shocked. They nearly touch my brows and my glasses. It's great - it just takes time and diligence. I put it on right before I get into bed.

I was told to use a primer first then apply the mascara. Seems to work.

My eyelashes are short and skimpy. Horrible !

I tried the 'IT' brand from Q and the wand is good size, for my particular problem, but, the actual product was dried up what their was of it. Went back to drugstore cheaper brands.

I have been seeing great results with RapidLash. I buy it on Drugstore.com. One tube lasts for 3 or 4 months. It really works for me!!! Check out Hot and Flashy on youtube and search for Rapidlash. I have used this for about 1 year. It does not irritate my eyes at all. Every night on clean skin, You put a thin line along your upper lash line and let it dry.

I used to use RapidLash and yes, it does work but I got tired of paying that amount of money for it so I switched to just using Rosehip seed oil. You can get Rapidash often on Hautelook for a better deal than many places. Costco and costco.com carries it too if you are a member.

Hi Shelbelle, Careprost is the generic version of Latisse. I got mine from All Day Chemist. I learned about it here. Satisfied customers, but I will probably try Tara Skincare to use an American site. ADC is in India., I started using in November. I bought three bottles and just opened the second. Love the results!

I also have the vanishing eyelash issue. I wonder if Wen's tea tree oil would help.... I've been using it on my temples for thinning hair and (with patience!) it's effective. I'm going to try and use it on my lashes at night! Trying Rimmel's accelerator is definitely on my list as well.

Thanks to all for recs.

I did see good reviews for Rapidlash, but others said they stopped using a key "ingredient" and was no longer working. Not sure if that is true or not.

I think I may give Careprost a try, but I am concerned about eyecolor change. One website said it was possible.

Has anyone experienced that?

My eyes are green and I'd rather not lose that (along with everything else!).

That actually sounds potentially painful and irritating. I would not recommend doing that. It contains eucalyptus and peppermint oil in it too which isn't something you want to get into your eye.

@Ibby114 I use Shea Terra organics but you are right, there are all kinds/brands out there. If you decide you want to try it, here is what I recommend you do. Use only a teeny tiny drop on a clean mascara wand and sweep it on eyelashes starting at the base. It should be such a little amount that it will not drip into your eyes! Some people use a pointy eyeliner brush and just apply it to the base of the lashes like you do with rapid lash or careprost. Anyway, it is not a quick fix (a few months to start seeing changes) so be patient. It also doesn't cause your lashes to individually get thicker, I just find it makes them grow longer, fill in better, I lose less lashes and they don't break off like they used to. Good luck if you decide to try it!

I've heard that a mix of Coconut Oil, Castor Oil, and Avecado Oil works. Also just Vitamin E oil by itself. Anyone know which oil truly works best or if you have to combine different oils together? Thanks.
