Sometimes I catch myself on reading reviews about products recommended by Paula, or given 5 stars. Then when I want to check those products out they're discontinued. Is it really bad to have a product in a jar instead of a tube? Is there a better, less bias site where I can look up honest and true customers opinions instead of having to read about how great Paula's products are? They didn't work for me, I had the full size retinol, the product was gone after two weeks and I was really dumb founded, because it should have lasted longer than that. Thanks

I find it hard to believe that if the product is destroyed by being in a jar instead of a tube, so many well known, reputable skin care lines do it. I would take her advice with a grain of salt. I depend more in the reviews of the actual customers on QVC, Ulta, Make up Alley etc. I have tried severat of Paula's products and didnt find any of them to be any better or worse than other products I use. I dont use any of her products on a regular basis.

You could try going on Amazon. They often have the products you're looking for and include tons of unbiased reviews. (That said, I always skip the ones that say they've been given the product free in order to review. That's too biased for me.)

It is interesting that you should bring up that topic. I was just thinking that, while I do use several of Paula's products (including Retinol) and I do like some of those products, I have been comparing and contrasting other brands in size, potency, reviews, etc. And, at least in the cost category, in my opinion, ounce for ounce, I do not think Paula's products are priced that far off of anyone else. I think there are many other brands that include great products that are reasonably priced, as well. I guess it is what works for you, and what you feel is a fair price to pay.

Hey Kalinka. I am an esthetician and I work for 3 derms and a plastic surgeon. Jar packaging is absolutely NOT GOOD for ingredients that are most beneficial to our skin. Air is the enemy of their stability and that is an absolutely fact. As a matter of fact it is clearly stated that jar containers are the least effective in protecting its contents in Guidelines on Stability of Cosmetic Products (March 2004). They would never suggest a product that contains retinols, AHA, Vit C or any other ingredient that isn't stable that comes in jar packaging.

I am not even talking about what cross contamination can do. This is widely known in the manufacturing of these products and you have to wonder if these companies are still making these in jars, why would you trust them on anything else when they fail on something so fundamental.

You of course are free to use whatever you like but I don't use any products that have active ingredients in them that require no light or air but are still stored in a jar. You are essentially throwing away your money because each time you open them they become less and less effective and that is not just what Paula says, that is a fact well known through out the industry and has been well known for quite some time.

I just don't understand why the so called prestige skin care lines still do jar packaging then, they should know how useless the ingredients become after opening and touching. I personally don't use jars at all, but that only because I'm happy with what I use and those products are in tubes.
