Yellow-toned foundation for dry and sensitive skin?

I'm looking for a foundation that's good for fair, dry and sensitive skin and is also yellow-based. I'm finding that a yellowish foundation is best for covering rosacea on my cheeks and nose. The best I've tried so far is Benefit's Oxygen Wow Hydrating Complex foundation, which I bought last week at Ulta, but it's going back because it transfers sooooo easily and is kind of patchy in spots. Primer and powder don't work to help it last longer either. It's a shame because this foundation looks the most natural, color-wise (I got the lightest color, ivory).

I've tried so many and keep returning them! Does anyone know if Jane Iredale either liquid or powder would be okay for dry skin? Or does anyone know of anything else that might work that's paraben-free and won't settle into fine lines? Thanks in advance!

It sounds like we have similiar skin tones and issues. I have very fair,dry, sensitive skin with a ton of allergies and issues. I also have red patches and some discoloration. I have yellow undertones and some blue. I lost count of the number of foundations that I have tried over the years. Here is what I found that has worked for me in the last few years.

Mally cream foundation in the compact. I apply with a sponge. It covers every thing.

Bobbi Brown foundation stick. I love how my skin looks in this foundation and it covers. You can layer this if you need to in certain areas. I also comfine this with B.Brown coneal, correct and seal for those dark circles under my eyes.

Dr. Denese day cream. This is a foundation and moisturizer and sunscreen all in one.

All of these products last all day and into the night until I take them off. If They cover and even out my skin tone. None of these turn color or cakey or gummy. If I had to rank them in order of my preference here is the ranking.

Bobbi Brown foundation stick

Dr. Denese day cream for days when I don't want to apply makeup but need a little "some thing".

Mally cream foundation

I also have found that for blush I prefer the cream format now and use either Bobbi Brown or Doll 10. The colors are matte, sheer, you can layer them and they last. They give me just a hint of color which is all that I want with what I have going on with my skin.

Fressa, thanks for your very helpful reply! Yes, it does sound like we have the same issues! I also have blue tones, a little under the eyes but mostly under the pink nose and cheeks (when I'm cold). I never tried any of the products you listed and am eager to check into them. I have a sample of Bobbi Brown's skin serum foundation and the color is really good but I think it broke me out. I didn't know if it was the lavender oil in it or something else. Does lavender bother your skin at all? I never tried anything of Mally's so I'll look that up. Hooray, some things I haven't tried!!

Bobbie Browns face products irritate my skin.

Laura Mercier has great stuff and colors, Nordstroms has a great GWP and free shipping to you and returns. It is the perfect way to buy makeup.

Lancome Nude Miracle comes in fair colors and is good for dry skin. I'm not sure how it does with sensitive skin. Have you tried chatting at the Clinique counter? YSL Touche Eclat is another lovely foundation for dry ski and comes in light shades.

if you have never tried the Mally face defender bb cream foundation(tube, 1.8 oz) go to an Ulta if you have one handy and try this. I too have a light complexion, very dry and somewhat sensitive.

@Violet Fields, I like Bobbi Brown's Skin Foundation w/SPF 15. It's a bit pricey, but lasts a good while. I use the shade 3.25 (Cool Beige) and it has a slight yellow tint and is moisturizing.

I don't have flawless skin, but when I use this I get compliments on my pretty skin. It looks like I'm not wearing anything.

I also use a BeautyBlender sponge for a flawless look.

Yes....I am really allergic to lavender. I am allergic to almost everything. Once I find a product I keep my fingers crossed that the company doesn't change one ingrediant or I'm back searching again. I search on line to check the ingrediants in the products before I purchase so I can avoid some of the reactions. I have not faired well with any liquid type foundation. I did use Lancome, Clinique, Bare Esentials and Laura Gellar Balance & Brighton. I am in the 50++age category so I needed a little extra help with my skin issues and I wasn't crazy about how the powder format was looking on my skin. Hope this helps you narrow down your search.

My skin put the S in sensitive. I have used Merle Norman Lasting Foundation for years.. MN has great makeup products. Find a store near you and go in and get matched for your shade.

Thank you all for your responses! It's really nice to hear from people with the same issues. I've tried Clinique and Lancome and they both break me out - don't know why, but they do. The shade ranges are nice though.

Fressa, I have really bad allergies also so it's so hard to find something that doesn't irritate my skin. I have the best luck with liquids in the summer when it's nice and humid. My skin isn't terribly dry then.

@LuluOnBeauty The YSL Touche Eclat is one of my favorites! A few months ago I got a sample from Sephora and it's beautiful but they discontinued that foundation and came out with a new one. I'd love to get a sample of the new one, but some people say it's much more drying.

@doglover3 Ulta is pretty close by, so I'm definitely going to try the Mally. I checked into it and it does look good. Maybe the fair would be a good match, if it's not too light.

Hopefully this weekend I'll be able to check out the Bobbi Brown and the rest you all mentioned. Sephora and Nordstrom aren't close but maybe I can make a trip out of it!

I'm using the Doll 10 Concealer in Medium, and the Laura Gellar Baked Elements Powder Foundation. Quick and easy and my skin has been very dry lately, and it looks great! Feels like nothing on. I have medium/olive skin. No pink undertones at all.

@ladygirlThe Laura Geller Baked Elements Powder looks really nice but where do you buy it besides QVC (has the brush with it and more expensive)? Ulta has the Balance n' Brighten but that one has talc in it.

not only the fair in Mally defender bb but check the light medium as well, just a tad difference and if the light is just a tad too light the light medium is perfect, is for me and I wear light in most foundations but in this, light medium which I am glad some have a light medium.

I got the Laura Gellar baked elements foundation on ebay! Much cheaper. Just have to keep looking for your shade!

I find that Clinique foundations have a lot of yellow in them, except for usually the lightest shade which typically has pink undertones. I love Clinique as there is no fragrance and is made for sensitive skins.

I, too, have allergies, but I think it is a few things that are used in a lot of things. I am extremely sensitive to silicone, which is put in anything from food to coating dishes/cookware to cosmetics to building materials, etc. I have found Bare Minerals BARESKIN 04 Bare Ivory works for me. Once I had it streak, but then I remembered to shake it as well as swirl the brush as I was applying and it hasn't happened again...that I know of.

Thanks again for your replies! I have tried Clinique and Bareminerals and they don't work out for me. If I remember correctly (tried so many!), they were breaking me out.

@doglover3Over the weekend I bought the Mally Face Defender BB cream in light and have been trying that out. So far, it doesn't seem to irritate my skin, but the color is too light, like you said. The next time I go to Ulta, I'll try the light medium shade. The coverage seems really light but maybe would be better with the right color.

@ladygirlThanks! I'll check ebay because that foundation looks really nice, if it's hydrating. I'm wondering too if a powder might look less patchy.
