Shawn - black eyes?

I never noticed this before.

Has anyone noticed the black under her eyes? Did she have an accident or an illness?

Her eyes don't look swollen, but the darkness under both eyes is so noticible. Doesn't look like dark circles, looks like bruising to me.

I have always noticed this on her because I have the same problem.I am waiting for her to find a great concealer so that I can cover mine too.

Her make-up tonite is too dark, especially the blush I think she was trying for high cheek bones, doesn't work with her darker hair.

So, its normal for her? Never noticed it before. I think it is too large to be normal dark rings. Its almost to her cheekbones.

Who ever applied her make up didn't do a very good job. Perhaps too much faux tan, or just wrong color blush for her. Very unattractive. Always too much eye makeup in my opinion.

HSN sells 'Boing' think it's spelled. It should come up if you just type that in Boing I think. I love it. conceals real well. I bought in light and medium both.

I noticed it too. I thought the live feed from my ipad was glitchy. Maybe its eyeshadow fall out. Or she rubbed her eyes or something.

I think it would be a good idea to have host's makeup checked right before they go on air just to make sure everything looks okay. The lighting in the makeup area could be a little different from the lighting on live TV. High definition seems to accentuate any flaws. Just a thought.

I think (not that anyone asked) that Shawn wears too much black around her eyes. It would be prettier to use lighter shades. I didn't notice the undereye area looking different than usual. On a different note, I think they have a new makeup artist. Lately many hosts have had sort of retro '40s' looking makeup and it reads harsh with HDTV. Very pale skin, dark red lips and huge false eyelashes. It looks very unnatural and unflattering IMO.

Tonight definitely is not a good night for Shawn in the makeup dept. I actually did a double take because it was so muddy looking and the streaky brown blush and black under her eyes were just wrong. That makeup artist did her no favors.

I think many of you have some good points about makeup. I was kind of surprised by Shawn's dark patches under her eyes, too, and wondered why no one put concealer on her before air time.

I have also always wondered why eyeliner (in general, not just Shawn) is almost always brought all the way to the inner part of the eye (nearest the nose). This look often seems kind of harsh to me -- especially when done with black. Not everybody can carry off this look, and not every occasion is right for this look.

It's just fine when it works, but as some said, either use a lighter shade, or perhaps just line the eye beginning a bit of distance away from the nose. The most appropriate distance would depend on someone's own features, of course. Then, too, an event, or time of day, or something else can also make a difference in makeup application.

Shawn's blush/ bronzer is not good. I think she is using different cosmetics and it is not agreeing with HD.

These black under eye blotches have been obvious for at least a year. I'm amazed that so many people haven't noticed.

So why aren't any of the wonderful concealers used here?

On her face book page, this afternoon, she was having some fun experimenting with the "You Cam Makeup App" (I just downloaded it and she is right, it is fun!) Maybe she felt like changing it up and trying something different. I like that. She tries like the rest of us. Sometimes it works and sometimes we have to refine.

They do it on purpose.
