I read a post by Sandra Bennett on Facebook about Dana's cancer return with a link to Dana's blog. From the blog, I went to Lisa Robertson's interview with Dana. Truly, one of the most moving, fun, sad, inspiring, grounding hours I have spent in a long time.

I wish Dana many good days as she takes this journey. The video is very lengthy and unfortunately many of her points are lost on me. It doesn't matter. Each person dealing with this horrible disease has to find their own way to deal with it. Bless her.

I went in skeptical, but now I know more about Dana Bledsoe as a person, in her own words, & the frightening journey she is on, but has chosen to empower herself and other women through step-by-step, by embracing it with caring & compassion & the desire to learn about ourselves & how to take each step we have to take. I signed up for her blog via DanaBledsoe.com , and will look forward to hearing updates & supporting her journey. We're all in this together, no matter what our stories are. I wish her well.

I am not at all even remotely being snarky but I checked out Dana on her FB place and she had nice pics of herself in large sunglasses and a wide brimmed hat lounging on a beach in FL. Big old smile on her face, no one would guess she's suffering again from cancer.

I thought for someone who's battling such a disease again, one should not be in the sun on any beach. I hope she had TONS of sunscreen on all over her body for one thing. Yes she mentioned she was caring for herself in a more holistic manner. Good for her but I'm not sure all that she's doing will cure whatever type of cancer she's suffering with again. I wish her luck however.

You're worried about whether she was wearing sunscreen? Wow.

How about applauding her ability seemingly to take this latest news in stride and live her life -- beach, sun, and all -- with a "big old smile" on her face?

I just completed breast cancer treatment. During my 40 treatments of daily radiation (8 weeks), I looked so well that I had a colleague come to me and ask if I felt as fabulous as I looked-healthy and glowing (her words, not mine). I felt cr@%%y and tired due to the radiation and working FT as a teacher.

Just b/c someone 'looks fabulous' doesnt lessen the severity of the cancer treatment.

Let's cut Dana some slack, ladies. You are better than this.

AMEN! My mother has bilateral breast CA, and cancer runs in my family, in general. A cancer diagnosis is devastating. Cancer - period - is one of the worst things on Earth.

@maestra, I agree...we should all support each other, & I am touched that Dana is taking this health challenge and using it to reach out to also support others going through hard times. I think that is courageous & remarkable. I was saddened to hear her talk about her 3 very young children, and that the cancer is inoperable in 2 organs, which can be suppressed but not removed surgically. I don't think we need to judge her or anyone else, from just a photo. We don't know any details, and aren't qualified to be judges anyway. Hopefully the other comment made just came from a place of concern, rather than anything else.

How old is Dana? She can't be more than in her late 40s? So young to have to go through it a second time. She seems like a positive person IRL and wants to continue living her life normally. That actually take a lot of guts and inner strength. Touched me when she said it was hard to hear this news the 2nd time around. Blessing on her and her family.

Dana said today that she will be 48 next month. Frankly, all this new age psychobabble is effective as an ancillary treatment, but it will not treat cancer. I just hope she's done a thorough evaluation of what's available nationally in terms of new and/or experimental treatments. I know someone who's being treated for cancer now with good, though not perfect results, and he would not be alive without it. I have a neighbor who had cancer return a couple of years ago. He was treated and had a rough time, but last I saw him he looked totally healthy and was out of treatment.

Maybe she is doing the best that she can. Let's leave negativity away. This woman has a re-diagnosis and I, for one, would not want to be in her shoes. I aplaud her and pray for her.

I've been watching dana's presentations on and off all day. I don't know how she does it. I've had breast cancer, early stage. No way did I have her happiness, optimism, and NEVER could I have gotten on television and held it together for 24 hours. I'm not big on new age thinking, but something is giving her tremendous strength and I give her so much credit. I know her cancer spread, and isn't operable. Hopefully, whatever treatment she's chosen will keep it contained for a very long time.

I agree, Dana is a remarkable woman. She chooses to remain happy and optimistic during a very serious health crisis. I wouldn't last 5 minutes on air presenting the TSV. I wish her all the best and will send her positive thoughts and prayers throughout her journey.

Yes, I watched the videoclip of Lisa Robertson talking to Dana Bledsoe about her cancer returning and I read Dana's blog too. I wish her the best as she faces cancer. It must be very difficult to have a cancer that has returned. She's young and has a young family.

I don't come on the Beauty Banter very often. This post caught my eye so I started reading the replies.

All I can say is how uncompassionate this poster is. I've read a lot of catty, snarky, sarcastic, down right nasty posts on this board, but this one tops them all. The entire post is insulting.

One of my dearest friends died from beast cancer. She was just reaching the 5 year mark when spots were found on her liver. Then it spread to her bones. She was a guinea pig for every new treatment offered to her. I think lying on the beach would have felt glorious to her.

I wish Dana the best & hope she finds a way to defeat this cancer again.

Also had a dear friend die in the last year from liver cancer after she won the battle against breast cancer. Her treatments actually caused the tumor and she was devastated. Her doctor told her liver cancer could be a complication of her treatment and she risked it. Certain cancers are inoperable with no cure and da**it if someone wants to enjoy the sun they should enjoy the sun. The sun makes most of us feel better and its called sunsceen. You know Dana was wearing it. Its a holier-than-thou & judgmental post.
