Pure Grace

How soon do you think the body lotion would turn rancid? Perhaps rancid is too strong a word to use for the off smell I've noticed lately.

I date every beauty item I purchase with a permanent marker on the bottom. This particular container of Pure Grace was first used on June 14, 2014.

Dana has mentioned that the shelf life of philosophy items is 2 years. Is this before it is opened?

I'm down to about 1/4 container and continue to use it. It doesn't have a funky smell on my body. Since we're now in winter, I would prefer to use Tova Nights more often, but don't want the PG to go to waste.

Your thoughts/experience with this issue?

I think all bets are off once any container is opened. I also think I've been able to use up almost any lotion/cream product I'ver ever had - although I sometimes end up creaming my legs with products I bought for my upper body. Been doing that for at least 40 years now; I don't think I've done any damage to myself.

I think it'd be fine to use something else over the winter. I had a pure grace whipped lotion that sat in my closet for about a year and a half and it had been opened and still smelled great just the other day when I re-discovered it ha!

It's a gamble. I have had Amazing Grace body lotion go bad. I'll never buy supersizes again.
