Save my hands PLEASE!

Hi everyone! Hopefully I will get some answers to this post. I am 56 years old and have tried many hand products. A lot of them have worked to make my hands pretty soft, but I have never found a product that helps eliminate the wrinkles and the signs of aging. My hands look like I'm 10 years older than I am! Bad wrinkles and no elasticity whatsoever. I would be very grateful if I could get any suggestions to address my problem. I have recently lost 80 lbs. which is great, now I just need something to cure my old lady hands. Many thanks and have a blessed holiday season!

Big congratulations on the weight loss! You must feel like a new woman.

Can I ask what your mom's hands were/are like? I am a few years younger but find my body characteristics to be more like my mom's everyday. For the most part that is a good thing...but with some things (little Buddha belly) it is not a blessing.

One thing my mom was religious about was using rubber gloves when cleaning. It prevents a lot of stress on your hands.

You seem to have found good moisturizing products (yay!) but if hand wrinkles run in your family, you might have to settle for a cute little dress that shows off your new figure and takes your mind off your hands. Congrats again!

Congratulations on the amazing weight loss!

Regarding your hands, recently I saw my friend who normally has pretty wrinkly skin on her hands (she is only 41) and some age spots. They made her look older than she is. Anyway, when I saw her this time, her hands looks amazingly better so I asked her about it. She said she uses her retin-a on the backs of her hands. I had no idea you could do this but it makes sense- if it really helps with wrinkles, increases collagen production, fades age spots, etc on the face skin, why not the hands! But it has made a world of difference for he hands- smoother, less wrinkly and no more age spots. Also, the skin looked less thin/crepey. That might help??

I believe I read that Jackie O liked to wear nice rings to take away the focus on her hands.

Keep hydrated (extra water) and a good lotion on your hands when possible. CAT

I think your genes do play a big part. And I have very thin skin so there is not much that can be done about that. I do whatever I can to protect my skin. I wear gloves to do household chores. I wear gloves always when its cold.

You could try to wear a heavy cream or lotion at night and apply soft cotton gloves and sleep with them on.

As you wash your hands throughout the course of the day, remember to re-apply lotion or cream.

Anytime I am using a peel product on my face (I like the Olay Micro Peel, a good dupe for Philosophy's peel) I treat my hands at the same time, then rich moisture after. A noticeable difference!

I agree on using treatment creams on your hands...I use whatever I am doing on my face on my hands also...I currently keep a small bottle of my WEN oil with me during the day, and my hands look the best ever,...Gloves for cleaning if you can, especially in the cold..

I also love the Elizabeth Grant Caviar night cream (Evine) I use this on my hands at night (what's left after I use it on my face)

Wow!! Kudos on your weight loss!! As for your hands---mine are horrible; had chemo 3 years ago and one hand is sightly swollen from surgery to remove lymph nodes so it isn't as wrinkled as my right hand, which is very wrinkled and old looking, but I do agree with wearing gloves whenever you do any work with water or cleaning stuff. I would look for a fading spot product and put sunscreen on the backs of your hands and then I use a big glob of old fashioned vaseline and put cotton gloves over top at night. Seems to really help moisturize. Don't know about getting rid of wrinkles; tho I think there is a plastic surgery method that does that. Not going there tho!!!

I've tried so many creams for my hands and have finally ended my "quest" with Ultra Repair intensive therapy cream and /or Josie Maran's hand cream (unscented). I am 50++ and holding and my hands really show every little thing. I have very sensitive skin, allergies, etc and these work for me. They also last thru multiple hand washings so it stops that reapplying every time you wash your hands. There is no greasy feeling or scent wtih these which I prefer. They absorb quickly into the skin. I saw improvement in a week. I hope you have the same good results that I did.

I love @HappyDaze suggestion about the Retin A! I use a moisturizer that contains Retinol and now will massage whatever is left over from my face on the back of my hands in the morning and evening. GREAT tip!

This didn't work for me. It made the skin on my hands thinner, if that's possible. I like one suggestion I read here: put your hand cream on like putting on gloves.Smooth each finger.

Yes, my Mom's hands were pretty wrinkled. But what I've inherited the most from her is the puffy bags under my eyes. NOTHING I have tried works. And concealer has been a total bust so far.

I found one product that does not just only "soften" hands, but rejuvenates them. It does make hands young and firm with continued use.

ISOMERS Skincare Re-Densify Volufirming Hand Cream 4.06 oz - 300-876. It is on Evine site.

Right now there is only a regular size, and price is a little high, because it is in between Vendor's visits. But during the visit they may have it supersized and for less. I love this product - it works! It is well worth giving it a try, they have a 30 days return policy as well, if it does not work for you.

I can't use any retinol product, makes the skin thinner so, do as you do and also love the Olay Micro Peel.

I also at night time use the Olay regenerist serum followed by the Olay Microsculpture night cream, very moisturizing.

I use these 2 products on my hands every night and for daytime I use the

Gold Bond Ultimate Strength & Resilience with Proteins and Lipids, 7 plumping moisturizers.

Large pump bottle with a sort of gold pump, white/cream bottle, 13 ounces and is great.

I put this on my hands every time I wash them during the day time.

I also use this on my arms and legs as well, works great.
