Clarisonic reliability?

Looking for some advice. Just to preface, I am a long-time Clarisonic user. I actually have an originial Clarisonic that is probably around 12 years old. I purchased it upon Oprah's recommendation as one of her "Favoriite Things" shows many years back. I love it and am so glad that it's lasted as long as it has. Now to my question. I am looking to purchase Clarisonic for my 12-year old twins. I have a boy and a girl and they are starting to get a little bit of acne. I really think this would be especially helpful for my son. He washes his face, but I don't think he's doing a very good job. I am very interested in purchasing the TSV for them for Christmas, but am worried about the poor reviews of the newer models. Seems like the newer models burn out much faster and I've seen numerous complaints about the charger not working. Anybody with some advice?

No real advice here. I bought my mia from Nordstrom a couple years ago and use it everyday with no problem. I would check the warrantee from clarisonic to see how long it covers it. Then maybe go to 4square and get an extended warrantee. Register it with Clarisonic and then just see what happens. And you have until Jan 31 to return it to QVC. That will give you a month to see if the kids really use it. If they don't than send it back.

I also have one of the early models as well as a later Mia and both are still working well.

I know there are some negatives on the newer models, but when millions are sold, won't there always be some? My thoughts for anything reviewed is --first, what are the majority of the reviews saying? and only then, do I look at the other side and find out how the reviewers issues match mine.

I'd definitely buy todays TSV is I had any need for two - especially because you have the extended return period right now. I'd even give the gift early and maybe add a replacement brush or some cleanser for the holiday if they're really liking the Clarisonic.

Thanks, everybody, for your opinions. I guess I'll go ahead and give the TSV a try. It's really the best price out there right now. I probably wouldn't buy it if I only needed one, but for two the price can't be beat. As I said, I really love my Clarisonic and I guess I"m especially lucky that mine has been working for over 12 years. A few months ago, I actually tried the Foreo that is the silicone skin cleansing device and it was nowhere near as good as the Clarisonic. After using it, my skin just didn't feel very clean. I ended up sending it back and going back to my tried and true Clarisonic.

I've had mine well over 12 years and it's still working. I thought about the Mia but decided against it. I'll just wait until mine dies and will probably replace with a regular size Clarisonic. I see they also have one for men. I don't know why mine has lasted so long but I do remove it after its charged. I do not let it be plugged in for any time other than charging it. Maybe that adds to its long life.
