fwiw, i read somewhere not to rub your wrists together, for example as it bruises the scent. you are supposed to spray on the inside of the wrist and behind the ear or apply with fingers if not a spray. not to rub!!!

I know Tova always says to spray the parfum in a circle around you and walk through it rather than applying it directly to the body. Do you do this with other company's colognes, parfums etc.? If I dab a fragrance behind my ears I end up with a breakout ..almost like a cyst behind my ears. I always like to use sprays and wondered how everyone uses them.Sometmes I spray my wrists.

I've heard of this method of applying perfume (any type) for years. I spray directly on my skin. But, I guess it depends on what type of coverage you are looking for.

I can get contact dermatitis from some perfumes if I spray them on sensitive areas like the underpart of the arm. I have found that I don't have this problem if I spray on the top of my arms or legs.

I don't really like the walk-through method.

Depends on how much time I have before I go public. If I have an hour or more before I'm going out I will spray directly on my skin. I like to give it time to dry down before I go out. If it's a last minute thing I'll spray the perfume in the air and walk through it in my outfit. Perfume on clothes is nice but it dosn't develop the chemistry of perfume on one's skin. I just don't like the initial strength of pre-dry down perfume that heralds me into a room.

If it's a spray, I spray up around my neck area before I dress and then my wrists (don't rub).

If using an expensive perfume, I've always heard to apply to pressure points.

I started breaking out from many perfumes years ago. Now, I don't know what perfume will cause me a reaction and I don't want to be without fragrance, so I will spray over the top of my hair. Then, I will do a light spritz down my front of my blouse and do the same on the back. I wish I could srpray on my skin but I just can't risk getting a reaction.

I read/heard somewhere years ago to always apply fragrance to the backs of your knees. That spot is a big pulse point. The fragrance lingers all day and 'goes up' into the air where it's less offensive to those who may be allergic.

When I do wear fragrance, I apply it on the backs of my knees rather than higher up. But I've kind of quit wearing colognes and perfumes these days. Instead, I slather on a scented body lotion every morning after my shower and my skin has a very light fragrance all day.

I spray it around the back of my neck but not on sides or front, perfume is heavy on the alcohol content, if you spray it on the neck it may be very drying to the skin.
