Wen on the news

I saw on the news where people are suing Wen for hair loss. My hair has been getting thin but I just associated it with my new meds. Does anyone know anything about this?

This is old news, however I have used Wen since Chaz started on QVC and I have always noticed hair in my shower. So, I stopped combing the Wen through my hair and it has made all the difference in the world. Very little to no hair now in the shower. I truly believe it's the way we use Wen that causes us to lose hair and not the product. What other shampoo or conditioner company asks us to comb the shampoo in the shower? I don't care what Chaz says and how he can tell if a customer doesn't comb the Wen through. My hair looks just as good and I'm not losing stands of hair down the shower drain.

it was on our local news also....

a judge has issued a stay in the case and has ordered them to mediation.

i know this is old news, but our local cbs station was discussing this yesterday and also posted this article on facebook. for those who have been following the case against chaz dean and wen, there is an update.

The federal judge has issued a stay in the case, and the parties are proceeding to mediation.

I have noticed that it seems like when I use the comb is when I see hair come out. I not going to use the comb and see how that does. I really like the way Wen makes my hair feel. So much easier to blow dry with Wen

Mediation is a form of dispute resolution in which a trained mediator helps the parties in conflict to negotiate a mutually satisfying resolution.

1. negotiation to resolve differences conducted by some impartial party
2. the act of intervening for the purpose of bringing about a settlement

Chaz has some explaining to do on his next QVC appearance whatever the outcome of this suit.

Did you see the bald spots? I had a lot of hair shedding and clogged drain! I can't believe all the people that were making fun of them for filing a law suit! Pictues tell a different story. I hope he/they have to fix the issue.

Hello, mamawsboys and welcome.

I heard about it a while ago. But it's probably best to wait and see what happens. Like the other person on this thread says, probably best not to comb your hair while it's wet. It seems like it pulls the hair out easier.

I recently started only doing a single cleanse. When doing a double cleanse, there was lots of hair in the drain. Now with a single cleanse, hardly any.

Those people are probably allergic to an ingredient in wen and that doesn't mean the product is bad. I have been using it for about three years and I do lose hair when I comb my wet hair, but that is likely to happen when you comb through wet hair. I can't believe these people have taken this issue this far, I mean if it wasn't working for them, I'm sure they noticed after the first use, why wait until you have bald spots.

WebMD notes that it is normal for a woman to lose up to 250 strands of hair daily when she shampoos. I use WEN and shampoo twice, but my hair is very short so I don't comb it through. I do see hair in the tub, but no where near 250 strands or even the 50 to 100 strands you may lose on a daily basis just with grooming. I agree that the people who are going bald may be allergic to something in the WEN product.

My daughter just mentioned the lawsuit today to me. We have both been using Wen for well over a year. I wash my hair typically every other day and notice a considerable amount in my hands every time I wash it. There is always hair in my drain. I have been saying for at least six months that I feel like my hair is thinning as I can see my scalp when in the car and the sun is shining. My daughters hair also seems thinner than it used to be. I assumed hers was because she colors hers frequently. I never put a connection together with my thinning hair to my cleansing conditioner. In doing some web searches tonight, I read enough to make me concerned enough that I think I am going to stop using it and see what happens. I am 53 and have always had thin hair. Again, I have noticed that it feels like I barely have hair and have been making comments for months that my hair seems thinner. I never ever even thought it could be what I was cleansing with. Perhaps coincidental but I am going to stop using it. For Chaz's sake, I hope the claims are wrong but I can only go by what I am experiencing. A big light bulb went off today!

I hope Chaz doesn't have to pay one red cent. I have used his products for years and have never had hair loss, just the opposite with thick, great looking hair. A lawsuit will increase the price for the rest of us. What a shame. I hope the mediator asks if all these women had a full blood analysis and listed their medications. Such a travesty. Chaz is the victim here.

Wow - before you blast the plaintiff in this case, (1) have you considered maybe the claim is legitimate and WEN is making the plaintiff's hair fall out, and (2) why not wait to see the results of the case before you make such a strong judgment against the plaintiff?

Many of these women have refused to see a doctor. That is a classic scam artist at work.

@CatBoo, I had issues with WEN too, Used it for about 2 years, maybe 2 1/2 years. Light bulb went off when I could really see through my hair to my scalp. But I had *itching that then went to painful scalp and did not connect the two. If you love the effects of WEN but want to try another cleansing conditioner, I suggest Matrix Biolage Cleansing Conditioner. There are four types: curly hair, coarse hair, fine hair and medium hair. I use the one for curly hair as my hair is curly. IMHO, this works better because you get a lot more for the price, I use less, it gets sudsy/creamy with water better & it rinses out better, at least for my hair. (I've always finished with a cold water rinse no matte what brand I was using and even when I did tradiional shampoo & conditioner). It's sold at Ulta if you want to give it a try. I do clarify my hair & scalp about once every week to 10 days. So you may want to try that as well. Another poster recommended Neutrogena T/Sal for clarifying which I plan to try as most clarifiers have stripped my hair color.

I don't think WEN is a problem for everyone but I do think that many people may have sensitivities to it just as they may for other shampoos, conditioners, and cosmetics. For me, I tend to think it has too much aloe vera in it as my scalp had the same exact reaction to a brand called Euphora which is 50% aloe vera.
