Looking for hair gel for fine hair - tried many

I need a gel for fine short hair. I have tried many products and they are all very thin and watery which falls right out of my hair. I used Eufora hair gel for many years and now it's been discontinued.... It was a very thick consistancy which gave my hair volume without being heavy... Any suggestions from anyone. I purchased the products from the salon I go to and those do not work either - my hair falls flat the minute I go outside. I still have to use several products each day and have spent many dollars - but since I wear my hair everyday I think it should look it's best. Clothes come and go but hair is all the time... Hope you all agree....

I have fine thin hair also and the best I have found is Bed Head Manipulator. After blow drying, I put some in the palm of my hand and rub together then rub throughout hair and pull pieces out as I go. Then spray. I get asked all the time what I use. It can be found at Rite Aid, Kroger, Ulta. About $18 a jar. Hope this helps.

I hear your pain LOL. After trying everything known to man for thin, fine hair I came across this product here on these boards. It works wonders for me, and it is cheap!!!!!

My house has a water softener which makes my hair 10x worse but I need it for the hard water and furnace... I also use WEN and that makes my hair soft also. I switch betweeen shampoo's and have to use several products to get some volume and body.

All suggestions are great....

I've been using this for quite a while now and it's my FAVORITE! I have repurchased this at least 4-5 times. I will also use it with the Sea Salt Spray. My hair is fine and thin and this Suave Blow Dry Spray works the best!

I was always told to use a mousse instead of a gel for my thin, fine hair. I use the Perfector with Calista Tools Embellish Volume Spray. It's the best I've found and makes it look like lots of hair.

I can recommend John Masters Organics Styling Gel -- it gives body that is flexible and comb-able and it does not attract dirt.

"Hemp" makes a wonderful spray but the smell is overwhelming. It makes my hair feel coated, although it looks fuller. I just don't care for how it makes my hair FEEL.

I have to avoid products with wheat (gluten) now... I usually end up using Nexxus Comb-thru hairspray to keep my hair from falling flat. HTH

I have very fine, poker straight hair. I find investing my money in an excellent cut is my best bet, then I just wash and blow dry and my hair falls right into place. If the wind blows it - no problem, I just run my fingers through it and it falls back in place. I HATE using products on my fine hair - it just makes it heavy and it lays down flat. Also makes my soft hair stiff - hate that. I swim at least 4 to 5 days a week so my hair needs to be a style that is simple to care for.

I've been using the John Frieda Volumizing Mousse in the light blue bottle, OMG it's awesome. Makes my fine hair look great, and for 2-3 days too! Recommended on the boards here. With regard to the Suave Blow Dry Spray, how do you guys use that?

I have short, thin spikey hair and I use Calista Tool Embellish Texturizer and I love it. I have tried everything and this works really well for me. I would not be without it.

I have fine hair, colored, about chin length with some layers (similar to Carolyn Gracie's hair style). I like Big Sexy Hair blow dry volumizing gel. I bought a small size (1.7oz) to start with and I like this a lot.

sounds crazy but works, buy some apple pectin vitamins, open them up, mix the pectin with water it will make a natural gel.

That bottle is fabulous, but the problem is it's hard to find in the stores anymore. I stopped using it for that reason.

I like Redkin's stylin lotion and then to finish it off, Redkin Rewind. That is always available online and in stores.

Hello, wonderwoman01 and welcome.

Nick Chavez makes Velvet Mesquite Thickening/Hydrating Styling Gel. It's not watery at all and one of the best things about it is, it won't leave this white flakes in your hair that other styling gels might leave. It also won't leave your hair feeling sticky or gummy.

QVC has it and Nick's site has it. Unfortunately, it's sold out on QVC right now, but the item number for it is A262078.

Fortunately, it's still available at Nick's site.

I was so excited to try this after reading about it all over this board! YUCK I hated it. I actually returned it to the store. Horrible. You don't have to spend a lot of money...just go to your local store's hair dept. Pick up any strong hold thick gel that comes in a tube, walla! Any hair gels that spray are just watery.

My hair is short, straight, full of cow licks and thinning on top. I have tried mouse, gel, and every texturizing paste etc. that has been recommended. I find the more stuff on my hair the more weighted down and icky feeling. I now used Oribe texturizing spray. I have also used Bumble and Bumble sea salt spray and that works okay. Also the fibers that you can sprinkle in helps with the volume without weight with some hair spray.
