Tatcha was to have removed the talc from that product earlier this year. Those who were on Auto Delivery for the Enzyme Powder received a letter from QVC/Tatcha explaining the formula change. Many posted about it here on this board. So it would appear then that the QVC ingredient listing for the TSV is incorrect.

Regarding water and the cleansing oil, I also own the product and it is supposed to be applied to a dry face and hands (as mentioned). The only thing Vicki ever said about water is that once you apply water to rinse it off - it will rinse off easily and completely. And that's true. Once water touches it, the product is gone immediately. So there's no milky massage step involved, at least not for me. The water instantly takes the product off my skin's surface.

Never have tried Tatcha guess that will still stay the same. I'm a beauty junkie but think its way too expensive for a travel kit. Seriously those that have tried the brand would you pay that much for a travel kit?

I have not tried Tatcha but the full sizes are expensive. For me, I am thrilled to be able to get the discovery kit to see if the products work for me. $50 is a good price point considering these are high-end skin care products.

This is the first time this has been a TSV. When Lisa R was on, she had this same discovery kit and I think it was the same price or even less $. I bought it well over a year ago and especially liked the first 2 products. I have very sensitive skin that can break out so I bought the rice cleanser for sensitive skin and not the one that is in the TSV. Also have purchased the large size of their cream for sensitive skin which is not in the TSV. Their products are expensive but I liked the results and you use very little of each product as it is rather cost effective. Actually this isn't a bad price for a discovery kit.

I think 50 dollars is reasonable for a discovery kit. This is a more pricey brand, so they are priced accordingly. Actually, it costs more to make those little jars and bottles and fill them, than it does the regular sizes. I haven't ordered this brand, but I have bought other discovery kits, They last long enough to get a good idea if it will work for me. I need to use everyday for at least 2 weeks to see if I break out, and if it is working.

Tatcha has a strong following, many people love it. Tatcha, in general, is too expensive, IMO. Plus, the talc in the exzyme powder can be irritating to some people. When Victoria first came on QVC, right around 2 yrs. ago, I was intrigued by the cleansing oil and enzyme powder (all she offered at the time) but just couldn't justify the expense. I still haven't tried Tatcha, but have been delighted with the Dr. Young Camellia Cleansing Oil dupe I found and have been using since then. If I hadn't seen that Tatcha demo, I would have never been prompted to search for an alternative and I wouldn't have experienced the improvement in my complexion from using a good cleansing oil. At that time, I also discovered Fleur de Lis Enzyme Powder. I was very pleased with it and was recommending it for awhile, but then I remembered something from my past (Eminence Strawberry Rhubarb Dermafoliant) which I've gone back to. I get both of them on Amazon. It's a little bit of an investment at first, but the containers are larger than Tatcha's regular sized products, and are still less expensive.

I was a little curious about the raves on this line. But after seeing the tiny sizes - even for travel sizes - it's an easy pass for me. A cleanser that's not even 1 ounce??? To get a visual of how small these containers are, I went thru my current beauty stash to find comparable sizes. They are very small. No way, I could stretch it to last a month. Bravo to the QVC camera people for making the products look decent size on tv. I seriously am impressed with how they shoot items to make them look bigger etc. It's an art!

Watching the demonstration I had to laugh how she applied the cleanser to her hand and then used a blotting paper to show there was no oil. She barely touched the paper to her hand! So obvious. She then really pressed the paper on her face, I guess before applying the cleanser, to show the oil. These sizes are just too small. If I liked the product the price would be too prohibitive for me to buy the full size. For those it works for enjoy.

What seems a but disingenuous about this discovery kit is that, about two years ago, Tatcha was selling the try me sizes of both the camellia cleansing oil and the enzyme powder on their website for $4 each.

Clearly the company wasn't as well known at the time, and so they were probably offering these very inexpensive sample prices as a way to get customers to try their product line. That said, it seems to me that one of the purposes of the TSV discovery kit is to encourage people to try their line at a bargain price.

So from my perspective, this discovery kit seems very overpriced.

-- bebe

She said that if you added it to your wet face that this would start the emulsification process immediately and prevent the oil from doing the best job of getting the excess gunk out of your pores.

As JLF mentioned, you add a bit of water during the rinsing process.

-- bebe

Then I told her what Vicki Tsai had been saying.

She's having someone look into it right now. Once they confirm the correct ingredients listing she expects their IT department to revise the listing hopefully fairly quickly.

Bottom line, it sure sounds as though there isn't any talc in the current enzyme powder.

-- bebe

Here are the instructions for the Cleansing Oil direct from their website:

Begin with dry hands and a dry face. Apply 1-2 pumps into the palm of your hand and massage onto face, including around the eyes. Rinse off with warm water. The oil will emulsify into a milk and effortlessly melt away makeup and debris.
