MOROCCANOIL (the oil and/or shampoo/conditioner) anyone use?

I am thinking about giving this a try - right now I use / LOVE my WEN but there are some days I just want to shampoo/ condition and GO, I have LONG hair so my WEN takes me a lot longer to use, I still use Wen as my leave in on those days and still get the same results when I don't use it as a first/second cleanse.

ANYWAYS - wanted to know if anyone uses this or have tried it? Nordstrom has a travel size kit I thought about trying out first before commiting to larger sizes.

i have used the oil. i only need a tiny bit and my hair is long. the one i have came in a brown glass bottle i think it was around $45. mine has lasted 3 years.

@CatsyCline Thank you. I hear it lasts FOREVER so I think the travel bottle may give me a good amount for quite a while. I have hair to my bra line.

I haven't touched Moroccanoil since I went to purchase the treatment for the first time and the label stopped me in my tracks.. Most of the "oil" products out there should be called Silicones + Moroccan/Argan Oil.

Here's the ingredient list from the Moroccanoil Treatment:

INGREDIENTS: Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethicone, Cyclomethicone, Butylphenyl Methyl Propional, Argania Spinoza Kernel Oil (Argan Oil), Linum Usitatissimum (Linseed ) Extract, Parfum (Fragrance), D&C Yellow-11, D&C Red-17, Benzyl Benzoate, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone

That's basically FrizzEase with a little argan oil and a huge price tag. The amount of argan oil in Moroccanoil is so small, they have no business calling themselves Moroccanoil. Their name makes them sound like something they aren't and I don't want to support that kind of misleading branding.

my bottle is 3.4 oz. i don't wash every day though. i use maybe a dime-sized drop and rub in my hands and start at the bottom because its relly great for the ends of my hair and then i work it up through but not up to the crown/scalp. my hair is the same length as yours.

i have a few other argan oils i don't use them - this one is the BEST!!

@ChynnaBlue Thank you for the info, very good to know. I have Wen Fig, TT and Pom oils, I suppose I should just stick with those, may give me the best results.
I use the Wen oils mainly on my scalp at night as a scalp treatment, when I use them in dry / styled hair is seems to pull my curls out, even if I use it lightly so I save my oils for my scalp at night and do LOVE them!

i don't find the Morrocanoil to be anything like Frizz-Ease which is sticky and filmy.

I have no interest in the product but if you use it BeautyBrands has them on sale. $12.99 I think.

@SandGirl when I use the WEN oils on my curly dry hair I only use about 3 drops. Start small and adjust maybe for yours.

If WEN is giving you great results you're happy with and your concern is only time, have you tried doing one wash instead of two? If I haven't slept with treatment oils on my scalp, I can usually get away with one wash, which I just leave in while I wash the rest of me, then rinse and go. I also have long hair and have found that it doesn't take much more time than shampooing and conditioning used to.

I also have plenty of second day/third day hair tools I can use on my curls to make sure they look great even on days I don't wash them. My second day hair frequently looks better than my freshly washed hair.

I own a lot of Moraccan Oil products. I do not use them daily as they weigh/oil down my straight hair. I love the smell - so much I bought the hairspray (I don't generally use hairspray) and body oil. It is expensive. I have a frizz controller (sexy hair brand) and yes the oil is similar to that except I use the MO on damp hair and frizz control on dry hair.

That's cool. My objection is that their products with OIL in the name are mostly silicones and NOT oil. (The treatment is roughly 5% oil.) They're selling one thing while calling it another and most people aren't even aware that there's hardly any oil in the Morocconoil products. I don't believe that's an ethical way to do business.

I have been using Moroccan Oil for years, my hair loves it! It lasts forever (the treatment oil in the brown bottle) and the shampoo and conditioner are excellent. It doesnt weigh my hair down and its very shiny and healthy looking.

I recommend it to friends all the time. I am very happy with it.

I use both the shampoo and conditioner. I love them, and also love the smell. My hand is long and dry (from being colored every 5 weeks). My hair really responds to it.

I also have a small bottle of the oil that has lasted well over one year, maybe even two. I use the hairspray also, which also lasts quite a long time.

I tried WEN and my hair didn't really like it and I never felt like my scalp was really clean. I also switched up my shampoo/conditioner and again I didn't feel like my scalp was clean and it seemed to always be itchy (I was thinking it was just very dry and needed the oil).

I just switched back to the Moroccan Oil shampoo/conditioner and I can really see a difference in my hair.

I'd give it a try.

It really does smell divine

Sandgirl - I'd recommend getting that trial size. That's how I started and since they are smaller size and much cheaper, it's not a huge investment if it doesn't work.

@Pixie66 Nordstrom has a small starter set, do you think that would last me a couple weeks? I do shampoo/condition daily, I am not a 2nd day hair girl unless I am on vacation then I will just toss my hair in a pony and go but still will do my hair before we go out for a nice dinner.

I think maybe I'll pick up a starter set and just give it a try on the days I decide not to "wen" my hair.
