Dear All, I am taking a close look for the first time at NCN Skincare products.

Currently, I use Paula's Choice Resist Retinol Serum, Clinical 1% Retinol, and her Resist 15% Vitamin C Booster.

I am thinking of trying NCN's All-Trans Retinol 2%. It looks like it has a much better and powerful ingredient deck since it has 2% retinol along with Trylagen, which is supposed to stimulate the three types of retinol in particular type 3 the "youth" retinol. Importantly, NCN provides 2.5 ounces rather than 1 ounce when compared to PC. Therefore, it will me much more cost effective than buying both of PC's retinol products.

I am seriously taking a look at the skincare products I am using in order to get more bang for my buck. This is why I am also thinking of switching over to NCN's vitamin C serum which was highly recommended on another thread. It costs less, has at least a 6 month shelf life and gives 1.3 ounce of product.

In addition, since I plan to stop using PC's Resist Retinol if I switch over to NCN's All-Trans, I am thinking of adding their 25% Multi-Active Peptide Matrixyl Serum. Again, its ingredient deck seems amazing and it gives 2.5 ounces of product which a host of anti-aging benefits. Since I plan to try to conceive in December the earliest, I need to find an anti-aging product that I can use in lieu of retinol which should not be used in that case.

I would like know your thoughts on your experience with these products especially if you have tried both NCN's and PC's. TIA !!!!!!!!!

Hi! I have been using some of Nanci's products for over two years now.

One thing I would recommend is to hold off just a bit as she is coming out with a new product that is suppose to be a mix of the best ingredients, like a combo, all in one product. Here is what she recently said about it:

New All-In-One to launch later this month!
Thank you for your patience with me! I announced in my June newsletter that it would be about three months before I had the "All-In-One" ready for you. I was close.... it will be launching later this month or the beginning of October. The sun protection project is taking longer than I anticipated; we will not hold on breath on that one! So please accept my apologies in advance for the delay. I've been putting my heart, soul, passion, time and love into the new All-In-One.

Just to recap: The new All-In-One is a special formula that I originally planned for anyone over the age of 60. In reality, it's for anyone who needs plumping, lifting, hydration and glowing skin. Probably the 40+ age group. Great for crepey skin and really works on the neck and jowls. I've put fantastic multiple peptides, actives and anti-oxidants in it that all live together cohesively. If you're a busy, on the go type person who isn't into layering, you will appreciate the simplicity of using it. If I have it available for you before 10/1/15, I'll send an announcement.

So that might be something to consider.

The first product I tried from NCN was the All-Trans Retinol. It didn't do anything for me. Prescription Retin-A is much more effective. When I tried the Vitamin C serum, it had a burnt smell and kind of stung. I remember there being some formulations changes soon after that, to address the odor, but I never tried it. I had been really content with Mad Hippie Vitamin C for some time, but now I'm using Isomers Glutathiosome serum which has MAP so that's where I'm getting my Vitamin C. I'd never buy it on its own (super expensive), but got it on a really super TTV deal a few months back and kept it on auto-ship.

I have used the NCN 25% Multi-Active Peptide Matrixyl Serum instead of Isomers for @ 6 months. I'm on my second sample bottle & I like what I see. I don't see HUGE improvement over the similar Isomers products, however the ingredient deck is more robust.

Always looking for the next best upgrade from Retin-A and tried the All-Trans Retinol 2% sample size. I could tell way before it was all gone that it did not out perform Retin-A for me.

Currently using Isomers Stem C, but may switch after the new NCN product comes out.

Many NCN products are offered in sample size. While perhaps not as cost wise as the full size, I prefer not to go with full size until I'm sure. You might want to consider this route too.

Sorry I can not compare to Paula's. I used her products briefly and found (for myself anyway) that except for the 2% BHA, they either did nothing, or burned my skin.

No, it won't. When I messaged with Nanci about the new product, I told her that I didn't think it would replace her C serum but that I wondered about her 25% Matrixyl that I use.

She corroborated that it wouldn't replace the C. She did say that one type of peptide that will be in the All in One is like Matrixyl on steroids. So it should be interesting to see the item description when it appears.

SuzyQ, I've been out of the Matrixyl for about a week now but didn't want to reorder until this new one came out. I am thinking of using that instead.

One thing to keep in mind is that she says that the new one coming is for older skin: "The new All-In-One is a special formula that I originally planned for anyone over the age of 60. In reality, it's for anyone who needs plumping, lifting, hydration and glowing skin. Probably the 40+ age group." Plus, in her reply to me, she said. "But for anyone who is under 40-45 really will not need to use it."

You may not need it, especially if it's very pricey in comparison to the Matrixyl. But this is all speculation at this point. Plus, once it is available, you could ask Nanci her opinion as to whether you would benefit more from the new one.

Have you ever tried the Retin-A from a foreign country (India, etc)? I'm asking to get your opinion of the RX versus the non prescription. Does the RX one perform better for you than one that is purchased from India. Is there a difference in results to you?

@suzyQ3 Yes I know she said this but some ingredients, like matrixyl and other peptides, she is including in it also help to keep the skin healthy and help prevent wrinkles and sagging and wouldn't hurt, right? I can't think of anything negative that could come of using it? Her formulas are usually pretty excellent so I am excited to see what she is including in it.

Hi @Southernfriedchick@ - Sorry for the delay in responding. I just happened to look at this thread again and discovered your post. (FYI, if you want to ask a question of someone specific, you will get their attention by using the @ symbol and selecting their name, if they're involved in the conversation.)

Anyway, no, I have never bought Retin-A directly from a foreign source or website. My understanding is that they are the same drug, they just aren't regulated the same way things are here so they can sell something we'd call a prescription without a prescription. Out of nosiness I've looked at Tara Skincare, but she doesn't carry what I use. Even if I got something close, it would only be a couple of dollars less than what I pay at CVS using a Good Rx coupon. Getting it from CVS allows me to have the strength and delivery system that's been prescribed for me. The foreign option appeals to some, but I prefer dealing with a local pharmacy. I can have my prescription filled on the spot and the trust factor of dealing with someone local.

However, I'm not sure still if I should switch to NCN from Paula's Choice. Nanci's new product sounds very interesting though but I am not in the age range yet plus I have oily skin so I have to be careful any formulation is not too rich for my skin.

I wish NCN has smaller more affordable sample sizes like PC. The matrixyl serum sounds very good and I've read some great reviews on Amazon as well.

I really would like to know if NCN's Vitamin C serum and her Retinol 2% are better than PC's Clinical 1% retinol and the Resist Vitamin C. And the matrixyl serum sounds like a good choice for when I can no longer use retinol.

I really like her Matrixyl product and have been using it for awhile. I just ran out but am waiting to see what her new product is going to be about before I reorder. I am in my early 40's and I know she said it was targeted for more like 60 year olds but figured the ingredients might include things that help to prevent wrinkles and sagging too so it couldn't hurt. I don't have oily skin so I don't have that concern about it being too rich for my skin.

I hope you find things you love! Oh and there is always a 10% coupon for NCN's website every month so if you decide to purchase something, do a google search for the current code.

NCN does offer sample sizes of some products. They are quite generous. The sample size I purchased of her matrixyl lasted me about a month.

BTW - my statement re: Vit. C was that I was going to wait until her new super product comes out before making any change Vit. C brands. Not because I think her new product will replace Vit.C, but because I want to check out it's deck before making any changes in the Vit. C I currently use.

I don't fit in her age range either, but have some health related challenges that no doubt qualify me.

Wish I could add more to the discussion re PC / NCN, however I just haven't been successful with PC's products - no doubt due to USER ERROR!

@Southernfriedchick I'm not JLF but I've been buying my retin A from Tara's Skin Care and it is the same product as a prescription you'd get from your doctor. Tara's Skin care is in the US and they carry .025% and .050%. Just an FYI if you are interested.

@NycVixen I use NCN's Mult-active Peptide Matrixyl serum and her sample size is 1 ounce for $45.00. I only use it on my lines/wrinkles and under my brow bone and 1 ounce will last me for months. I'm 60 and I don't feel the need to use it all over my face so if I did, I'd probably use it quicker. She also sells a sample size retinol that is 1 ounce for $29.00. The sample sizes are not returnable though. Although I've sampled both PC & NCN's retinol, I haven't used either consistently or long enough to offer an opinion on either. I don't care for NCN or PC's vitamin C. NCN's is too thick so I don't feel it absorbs into my skin well plus my skin doesn't seem to like glutathione which is in her vitamin c serum. Many here on BB do love her vitamin c so you might want to give it a try. I tried PC's vitamin C twice and I just didn't notice anything to warrent the price. I've been trying many different brands and really liking OZ Naturals 20% Vitamin C + Astaxanthin & hyluronic acid which runs about $23 for 1 ounce. It's sold on Amazon or directly through the company. I tried Timeless last time I purchased based on Angie of Hot N Flashy fame but I think it was breaking me out so I moved on.
