Hi Wenners!

I'm a long time lurker here on the WEN board, and have been gathering info. for awhile now. I've wanted to try WEN for about a year (even ordered the Sept. TSV in Fig, but second guessed and canceled b/c I didn't want to fall in love with expensive hair care products). However I think I'm ready to take the plunge with this months TSV, but I need some guidance.

I have long, extremely thick (more than one hairdresser has said my hair is the thickest they've worked with), coarse, wavy dry hair with dry scalp. Based on my hair type I think Fig is my best option. Currently I wash my hair 2x/week (One time I co-wash with sauve conditioner and air dry, and one time I use traditional shampoo and conditioner- Redken- and blow-out my hair). This routine works well for me and keeps my hair in good shape (though I get a lot of frizz on co-wash day and I occasionally get dry, flaky scalp on my tradition shampoo/blowdry wash day). My hope for WEN is to use it when I co-wash and have a reduction in frizz and to treat my scalp so it's not so dry.

I was excited to find out that the New Beauty Test Tube would contain WEN, so I could try it before the TSV air date and make sure I really want it. There were six possible "flavor" choices for the WEN sample and I was hoping for Fig, TT or a universal to try. My Test Tube arrived today and you can probably guess where this is going: I got cucumber aloe! The one that is for fine hair and oily scalp....nothing could be further from my hair type! I'm a little hesitant to try it b/c I'm afraid I won't like it and it will leave a bad taste (feel) in my mouth (hair) . Do you ladies agree? Will CA be to astringent for my hair and scalp? Am I better off gambling on WEN and ordering the TSV (I'm not an impulse buyer as you can imagine and I like to think through purchases a long time and try before I buy if I can) or should I go ahead and try the CA, even though it may not work well for my hair? I have a feeling if it doesn't I won't be able to pull thr trigger on the TSV.

So basically a lot of verbiage to ask a simple question: Is CA a horrible formula for thick, coarse dry hair and scalp?? If I use it and hate my hair, is fig a better choice?

Thanks!
