SHOW THE FOUNDATION COLORS ON AN ARM OR SOMETHING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's becoming ridiculous trying to pick a foundation color by looking at someone elses face................show the foundation colors on a still photo,an arm a piece of paper-anything-JUST SHOW US THE FOUNDATION COLORS!

It's hard to choose if you're on the fence between fair and light or med tan and tan etc.... and this would help us.

Woke up early, checked to see online what Laura had to offer and also have no idea about the shade selection. I even went back to see the foundation as presented on a different date. Saw the video, heard the description. Still not much help. I might be a porcelain or might be a fair. AND READ THE HORRIBLE REVIEWS and to be fair there were good one also. What is a girl to do??

Pros-

1. entire kit that I could travel with. Nothing is really missing (perhaps blush) Not sure.

2. price is not all that bad because it is a complete set.

What to do? What to do?

I totally get what you all are saying. Even though I am not considering a purchase, as I am finally satisfied with my foundation, I did go to some sites online and looked at actual swatches on the arms of others. The porcelin shade was yellow.

I've never been able to make an even close match by looking at a photo of a woman wearing said color. Why they don't swatch is beyond me. I would think that doing so would cut down on returns.

While I'm passing on the kit, I did get the foundation when it first came out. I'm a Fair in Balance & Brighten, but the shades in the liquid seemed to run lighter when I watched the presentation at that time. I ordered the Light (next shade up from Fair), and it's a perfect match. I have yellow undertones, though. It may not work for pink ones.

I like the foundation, but I don't know that I would order it again. I don't have a hard time matching my skin tone, and there are some good drugstore brands out there that work just as well for me.

I don't know how anyone could buy foundation over the internet or tv - I have to put it on my arm or at the very least hold the bottle next to my face and look in a mirror at it to see if it matches. Anyway, i think all these QVC beauty products are all over priced gimmicks. The shadow looks like it has a ton of glittrer in it - I hate that in my shadow. Though the bronze color looks nice, I think the green is too dark, and I have green eyes so green shadow is good for me.

I totally agree with you. They use to do that along time ago. I did buy the foundation at Ulta and returned it. I got the medium and it was much to yellow for me.

@151949 I often do it by pausing the TV when they show the row of models' faces, then holding my arm under them, palm facing the screen. If it matches my arm, it matches my face, lol! But, I confess, I have pretty neutral skin, just a bit of yellow undertones, and have an easy time matching that.

I am on the fence today on the foundation color. With the BE serum foundation, I ended up being a shade I never would have picked, but it was/is perfect for me. I am fair but with yellow undertones. I'll figure it out, but I wish there was an accurate shade chart available.

Cannot agree with you more Catlover! I cannot determine my shade most of the time by looking at someone else. Often times when they say a model is a certain shade, it is not what I would have picked for that model. It is too hard to determine shades by looking at models faces.

If you go to the TSV forum, there is an LG chat. Post your concerns and suggestions there.

The hosts should be doing a better job of this.

It's a pass for me on this kit and I know I'm a medium in foundation if they run fair, light, medium, etc. but I can see if you are in between shades, it would be a problem.

I agree, seeing the difference between shades would be a big help, don't know why they don't do it, the other shopping channels do it, so I assume it comes from the "top"

I no longer buy foundations from the Q, for this reason

I agree, Mally is so good at doing this and so is Doris Dalton, so why can't the other vendors do it? I am not considering purchasing, but I enjoy the shows...Shannon on HSN actually swatched Jay Manuel's foundations the other night, and he offered more shades than Laura's...

I remember the good ole days when they would swatch the colors on the arms and have a "blob sample" so you could see. Photos of models do NOT help. We need to see what the actual product looks like!

I ordered my kit late last night, and I have been thinking about it all day....I decided to cancel it.

So, I go in to my account, the dang thing is processing as we speak, and I cannot cancel it. So I guess I will have to refuse it now.
