Recommendation for drugstore facial exfoliator/scrubs for facial cleanser. HELP

Hi everyone. Can you please recommend a good drugstore facial exfoliator or scrub cleanser to clean the face? I am looking for something that has the beads to really exfoliate or cleanse your face. I do not want an expensive, since this is something I will use all the time. Please help.

If you want a cheap exfoliator, you can add super fine granulated sugar to your cleanser.

yep! or sea salt or vitamin c crystals.... You can buy pure, unadulterated, micronized vitamin C similar to Philosophy's Turboboost C powder at excellent prices in either health or beauty departments !

Neutrogena has one my DH likes a lot. If you like to use wipes to clean your face "Simple" has an exfoliating one...bonus that you don't have to rinse granules off your face. I use that 2-3 nights a week to remove my makeup. Baking soda mixed with any facial cleanser you like is cheap and does a great job. I do that a couple of mornings a week...but NOT the morning after I've used the exfoliating wipe the night before.

My favorite for years has been St. Ives Apricot Scrub. Creamy with micro apricot pit pieces . I love it and the best part is that at the most I've spent $3.60 for a tube.... (less if it's on sale).....

I have been using Clean and Clear facial scrub, costs about $6 a tube. I cleanse twice a day. Works great

I've used this brand for over 30 years... I've never had a problem of any kind. I also don't know if they've changed the scrub material.... they may have, but just a note that Ive never noticed anything but clean, pink skin. I just bought some the other day, and it's as nice as it's always been....

There are at least 3 formulations of Olay microdermabrasion and peel system , one of them recommended by medical personnel at WebMD.

First hand experience: Olay Regenerist Instant microdermabrasion treatment is very nice. It is similar ito Philosophy's Microdermabrasion 2 step peel but doesn't emphasize vitamin c. It is an "ordinary bicarbonate scrub" according to Paula however, she hates Philosophy Microdermabrasion and QVC customers have consistently rated it among the best, if not THE best exfoliating peel.

The advantage of the Olay system is that it has been thoroughly reviewed by physicians who communicate with other physicians and have no personal investment in the company and was found to be effective. It's affordable, Amazon offers it at ~$16. 25 for Subsribe and Save participants delivered as frequently as you choose, once every month to once every six months. ( I can't recommend a B&M store but I'll bet a bit of comparison shopping will find competitive pricing.)

I love the Olay Regenerist micro-exfoliating wipes for removing make-up. They don't feel like most exfoliators, but it really does smooth the skin and get makeup off at the same time. it isn't rough or smells, so it is good for sensitive skin. It is around $6 at Dollar General, Walmart, WalGreens, Target, etc.

Weaknesses: Overly abrasive scrubs; ineffective anti-acne products; dated moisturizer; overall, the facial-care products are substandard, even if they are inexpensive.

Two things set this line apart in the minds of consumers familiar with the brand: the Swiss angle and their apricot face scrubs. This notoriety didn't translate to thoughtfully formulated products, though. Instead, most of the scrubs are too abrasive, and the apricot is simply there as an extract, never mind that in a scrub it doesn't have any significant benefit for skin. The same can be said of the selection of supposedly Swiss-based herbs. Most of them have soothing properties, but it doesn't matter to skin if the ingredients came from Switzerland or South Dakota. If anything, the whole Swiss angle is getting a bit tired. You can bet that there are no scientists working high in the Swiss alps to formulate these products. St. Ives is a line with very little worth considering, so feel free to breeze right by as you shop for skin-care products at your local drugstore.

The warnings you cite are considered Known Fact now. The sharp angles of the nut chips tear, abrade the skin fostering scarring and infection. They are passe ! Physicians prefer microbead abrasives and chemical exfoliants now.

One of the best is coconut oil extra virgin and baking soda. Equal amount of each. I use a teaspoon of each and mix in a glass bowl. Leave on the face 10 minutes and wash with warm wash cloth.Gentle on the skin and makes skin so soft......

St. Ives Exfoliating Apricot Scrub

I've been a decades-long fan (like many others), and use the "Fresh Skin" version.

It's usually under $10 and it comes in four formulations, which also come in an economical tub form.

My preference for sure.

I think it depends on how sensitive your skin is.

It comes in a gentler "sensitive" version (see my post with pics below).
