Just received a new poreless Face Defender by Mally (my first) and it has white spots on the bottom near the edges. Is this normal?

Yes, it's fine. If you Google the product and look at "images", you'll see that's how they look around the rim. Very common, don't worry.

Agree with JeanLouiseFiinch - this is one product I WILL NOT be without. Many of mine have arrived that way.
