what i was trying to say in my earlier post was that i do understand that the vinylux TC is a part of this polish system that while used together with the polish ... that this is what is supposed to give the long-last quality.

however, i discovered by mistake that i can achieve the same long-last quality with a different TC. i had polished with the vinylux and reached for and applied my out the door TC without thinking... and then figured i had just ruined a nice mani. but low and behold, the mani lasted one and a half weeks!

the other thing, though,. is that what works for one may not work for some one else. has something to do with body chemistry. for example, some folks can use essie polish with no problems. lots of folks cannot and say it chips within a day. i cannot use seche vite TC, a great product that most folks RAVE about.

it's all trial and error, hit and miss...

Thanks. I have the Revlon gel TC and I picked up Sally Hansen's 3D Gel turn-every polish into a gel manicure TC a couple weeks ago. I have learned that the Sally stuff can't be applied until the polish is 24hours dry after making shmutz of a polish job last week. Trying it again today on nails painted yesterday. Just bugs me that each 2-step line has to have its own special TC.

Neither the VL polish or top coat worked well for me, chipped the same as all the others. I get much better results with Sally Hansen Miracle Growth polishes. As for top coats, the best ever are either Poshe or SH Mega Shine Extended Wear in the mirror bottle.
