Fake tans-- not a fan!

I'm not a fan of any of the fake tanning products sold on the Q, or on the market in general. I think we should all embrace the natural skin tone we were born with. Some women who are lucky to have beautiful porcelain skin are ruining their looks by turning their skin tone into a most unnatural-looking orange shade.

I like a tan it makes you look healthier. You have to get a good tanner. Orange looks ridiculous. I recommend St. Tropez.

It's funny how there are some parts of the world that buy products in order to obtain that porcelain skin and others who pay for fake tan. To each his own.

Fake tans are OK. But, if you are going to tan yourself, do every part that is exposed. No white feet and tan legs. No tan face and white hands.

A tan is the result of sun damage. Why emulate something that is unhealthy?

If one saw a little child with a tan, we'd assume the parents neglected to protect the child with sunscreen. Granted, faux tanning products are just cosmetics, but what's the message we're sending?

They all look jaundiced to me...never use faux tan...prefer a natural tan using sun block

So a tan make you look healthier. Then I choose to look unhealthy.

Not a fan either and I don't think people look healthier with a tan. In fact it's just perpetuating an unhealthy image.

Real tans dry out the skin, cause premature wrinkling, discoloration/hyperpigmentation, increase skin cancer chances, and makes you look like a leather sofa. The idea that a tan looks healthy is just ridiculous, tanning is skin damage. No thank you, I'll stay with my natural fair skintone and embrace it.

I think faux tans look bad too- very orange and not natural. Why would I want to fake skin damage? So ridiculous.

I am not a fan of tanning; either naturally or with faux products. As a natural redhead, I embrace my fair skin and protect it as much as possible. I am extremely sensitive to the sun, and avoid it as much as possible. My oldest daughter is also very sensitive to the sun, and we use the highest SPF we can find. My youngest daughter takes after her dad, and will tan after consistant exposure to the suns rays. She was a real fan of tanning in her last years of high school and early 20's. That attitude has changed dramatically after having 3 pre-cancerous moles removed; 2 of which had to be cut into deeper to remove more tissue, which has left large and very noticeable scars.

I agree.

Faux tan looks fake, and then there's that horrible smell.

have always loved the tan look. now, older, still just using Jergens. The people now (on tv I'm speaking of here) all seem to be from 'another race' (will I get banned for this?). It's just not natural and actually too perfect, if that's understandable. Same as with the teeth being too white. to me doesn't look natural. Don't yell at me, I'm just old.

Following that line of thinking we should all embrace our natural skin and don't cover it up by wearing clothes. Also, no makeup or any enhancers such as jewelry, etc.

Actually my skin is more moist in the summer when I can enjoy the natural sun!! It's the winter with the cold and heat that is more drying!!

I use one I love for a hint of color and I love it and there is no smell.

I see no need to insult fellow posters, just because you don't like a product.

You must not wear mascara. Can't rub your eyes, you'd look like a rabid raccoon.

You must not wear lipstick. It would be smeared all over your significant other when you kissed and you'd both look like Baby Jane.

I guess you don't wear foundation, pressed powder or blush so you can pull a white turtleneck over your head without the discoloration.

Must be a real all natural beauty!
