But all the thinning hair and hair growth shampoos and/or conditioners I've seen, Nioxin, keranique, etc, all contain dimethicone so if there was truth to that statement, why would shampoos/conditioners to help hair loss contain it?

I wasn't asking about her signature line. OP (or someone) deleted her follow up post, which is the one that I was confused about. (Nothing to do with Easter, btw.) OP did the same thing on another thread that I have been following.

There is a real myth surrounding the so-called "dangers" of dimethicone.

Because even thinning hair needs shine....I really don't know other than that since I'm not a chemist. Silicones are used for shine and sleek hair, which is why it is in so many different products. So from Google:

It also provides a protective cover on skin, which is supposed to help keep moisture in, leaving skin hydrated for longer. In hair care products,dimethicone is used to provide smoothness, particularly in conditioners and detanglers, where the ingredient helps smooth hair and provide better comb-through.

yes, I agree and I do know why it is added to products but OP was indicating it can cause hair loss so I was asking if that were true (I have not found any real scientific studies indicating that this is true), why would hair loss/thinning product contain it. Kind of a rhetorical question, to give the OP food for thought and hopefully do more research beyond a google search to see if her statement is factual. Dimethicone is in the good majority of shampoos and/or conditioners.
