Alterna-tive to WEN FOUND!

In case others were enjoying the banter on finding something to Switch from WEN, I have found the perfect shampoo and conditioner that competes. It is the Alterna Caviar Moistuizing Shampoo and Conditioner. They leave my hair cleaner than it has been in years, it is silky, shiny, and soft. And my hair stays clean for much longer than it did with wen. I am losing no hair, I have no irritation. And for the first time ever, I am using the same small amount of shampoo and the conditioner (used to need three times more conditioner than shampoo, not with Alterna.) So if you are like me, looking for an alternative to wen, try Alterna Caviar. (and if you are a costco Member, they have the set for sale at $39.99 with free delivery.) If you are looking for a wen alternative because he is so expensive, go to Walgreen.com and put in cleansing conditioners, there is a large selection- pantene has the closest formula in my opinion. But many have recommended the Organix Line.

Best of luck to all The Happy & Nice QVC Ladies!

I have been using the alterna bamboo set for a few months and love it. My hair is much better than when using wen. The 24 hour volume spray is amazing. QVC has a super size set that is a good deal.

On 3/26/2015 ottowatoo said:
Has anyone tried Tweek? Think that is the name from HSN?? I think I may try the Alterna...thanks!

I tried both of the versions. I thought mixing them together would be the best option for my fine naturally curly hair. The nozzle on the Rise & Shine version just would not dispense the product. I pushed with all my might and very little would come out. Thought I was going to break my thumb! The first day my hair looked fine. It did not hold up for the 2nd day though. And about a week and a half into use, my scalp got very *i*tchy (sorry-QVC's filters) and irritated. I returned the products. My hair is very finicky and it is hard for me to find products that I love so while it didn't work for me, it may work for others. It is a unique concept in that you put it on dry hair first and wait about 10 minutes before adding water and more product, then massaging through hair and scalp and rinsing. There are a lot of rave reviews on HSN's website. It was developed by the same person that developed Ojon but then sold the line. Ojon didn't work for me either though, it was way too heavy on my hair and left a film.

And for the life of me, I've never figured out why people want to buy products in gallons. Its not to save money.

Different strokes for different folks! Lucky we all have choices, that is what is so great about life. And yes, it does save some of us money.

Paying prices for Wen is not saving anybody money.

It isn't your money so don't worry about it.

Tweaked had the same effect that Wen did on my hair and that was using it as just my rinse out conditioner, after shampooing with my usual Lea Journo shampoo. Hair was just too soft and none of my typical body. I have a strong wave to my hair so usually just blow-drying with a round brush is all I need to get tons of volume and style. Not after Tweaked or using Wen (as my complete cleansing product.)

I do use a very small amount of Wen as my leave in typically and that works really well for me. It doesn't seem to make it too soft yet does add just enough moisture and conditioning to make it very easy to dry and style. I think Wen, used in that way, actually performs better than using most rinse out conditioners, which also generally have a tendency to leave my hair too weighed down.

I think it's a blessing that we have so many great products from which to choose. Everyone can find exactly what works best for their hair and not feel like they are forced to use products that don't work at all for them.

There is not a ounce of doubt in my mind that Wen has been life changing for many women and that's a good thing. For those who don't feel it is the best product for their hair, there are tons of other options, with a wide variety of prices to meet budgetary concerns as well.

Let's be happy for all that there is so much from which to choose!

I didn't know Costco carried it. I will definitely check it out!

I tried both the shampoo & the conditioner and they didn't work for my fine, naturally curly hair. Too heavy, left a film on my hair and my scalp started **i*tching about 1 1/2 weeks into using it. The line has mixed reviews on MUA and Ulta's websites so it may work for some and not for others just like any other product. I do like the Clinical Daily Scalp & Root Stimulator.

I've tried all the Alterna formulas in the past and they were just okay, definitely not better or even close to the same as the summer honey peach WEN. My Costco does not carry it so probably only certain ones do.

Honey Peach WEN, mmmm, must smell great. Do you use it year round? Is it just a seasonal?
