I think Clinique has a very nice brow product. My sister over tweezed her brows when she was a teenager and they never grew back. Although more expensive, she had her eyebrows tattooed. They look great and she says that in the long run, it has been less expensive because she stopped buying the expensive Anastasia product she was going through quite frequently. My Mother who lost many of her eyebrows by just the process of aging decided to get hers tattooed as well and the difference in her looks is incredible!

Can the OP post what her issues are? Sparse, going gray, unruly and needs taming? That might help.

Another vote for Anastasia. I use Brow Wiz and have been very, very happy. I did try her tinted gel, went on a little too goopy for me. My brows are sparse so not much to cling on to.

That said it did give me an idea of what they would look like with a professional tint and I'm leaning toward a salon tint.

Not sure what your brow issue is. Most pencils look fake on my brows, even if I match the shade. I finally started to dye them as Snowpuppy recommended, and am very happy. It's a very natural look, and I only need to fill in the very sparse areas with a smidge of pencil.

Maybelline twist up brow pencil (green with brown top). About $6 to $7. Love it. Lots of colors. Maybe go one shade lighter than you think you need. You can make it darker by pressing harder.

I can give you two suggestions:

1. Drugstore: Milani Brow compact. Get the taupe even if you have dark brown brows (I do) --if your skin is pale, dark brown powder can be too harsh. If you are deep skin toned, you can use dark brown but if you are pale, it's better to use taupe.

2. I prefer my own brow powder, even though I have those IT pencils. It's less harsh on my skin. I prefer MAC in "Wedge"--a matte taupe, but any MATTE TAUPE eyeshadow will work. No shimmer. Use a stiff angled brush like an Ardell Eyebrow Brush to apply it and brush up the brows with a spoolie. Cost more than any eyeshadow (from $4 to $22 or so, depending on what you choose. But it will last nearly forever.

If your brows are unruly, you can follow with a tiny touch of vaseline on the spool end of the brush.

This is the most inexpensive and effective method I know for brows.

I just use eyeshadow. It works better than pencil IMO and looks more natural. Plus I already have the right color in my collection.

I'm liking Cover Girl's new brow product (can't remember the name at the moment). It's a powder and comes in a tube with a thin sponge applicator. I still use a ybf pencil for areas where I need more precision, but then fill in with the Cover Girl and it looks softer and more natural than a pencil alone. It does run dark, though.

Ahh! Overtweezer here, too! Additionally, my brows have a lot of white hairs in them. I tried EVERY product imaginable. I finally followed a suggestion I found here on the boards. I dye my brows with Just For Men Beard and Mustache hair dye. Like beards and mustaches eyebrow hairs are quite refractory to hair dyes. I use a pea sized glob of the color and a pea sized glob of the peroxide cream; mix them together; apply; leave on for about 5-10 min; wash off. Voilà! Eyebrows! Believe it or not, you have lots of little invisible hairs that can't be seen unless they are dyed. These little hairs give you a fuller looking brow when they are dyed. I have to do it about every 6-8 weeks.

After I have dyed my brows I use Sonia Kashuk cream brow filler. It's available at Target for $9.99. It has 4 colors in a palette. I like it because I can mix the colors myself depending on how long its been since I dyed my brows. Right after I dye them I use very little brow cream and use the lightest color. As time goes on I use more. HTH

I think the whole secret in applying brows is in the tool -- like the Smashbox eyebrow brush. Even if you use a pencil, and then brush it down with nothing on the brush, the brush makes everything look completely natural.

I'm a young 64, I've always had good brows but just started using Benefit Gimme Brow. I am a bit intimidated by pencils, this has a tiny mascara like brush that is easy to apply. It works well for me, I can apply it as light or dark as I want. It's expensive ($25), but it lasts for me a couple of months.
