I remember being really little and watching "In search of" or something like that that he did. I was so little so can't remember all the details but I think it was about strange things, like UFOs, bigfoot, etc?

I also love the star trek movies and really love the new ones and so happy he was in them.

Four? Oh, you do a disservice to Sulu, Uhura, and Chekov when you only name four guys. In a time when television was dominated by white men, it's a crime to underestimate the roles played by Nichelle Nichols and George Takei, especially.

Gene Roddenberry created a world where an African American woman could be the third in command of a space ship, a Japanese American played by a man less than 30 years out of an internment camp could make his way from being a Chief Helmsman to becoming the Captain of his own ship, and a Russian could be the Chief of Security while America was in the middle of a cold war with Russia. Star Trek was so much more than 4 white guys.

for sure, that show was groundbreaking and tackled many of today's issues back than with a lot more tact and grace than is done in 2015.

Well aware of what Gene Roddenberry,s intention's were with the show, as I watched it way back in the 60's. I was just referring to the biggest box office names I'm a big fan of all the cast. Let's not get political here

Gene Roddenberry was 'warp speed' ahead of his time!

RIP Mr Nimoy, you'll be greatly missed. I had the good fortune to meet him at an event at my University, he talked about the behind the scenes antics. Also his Orthodox upbringing was implemented into his character - just fascinating!

Fortunately, Lt. Uhura, aka Nichelle Nichols, and Lt. Sulu, aka George Takei, are still with us, aged 82 and 77 respectively. Sulu must have been the baby on the crew. LLAP
