Secret Clinical Strength Clear Gel. I got it in a Walmart Beauty Box and it's the best I've every used and I have used a lot.

I have sensitive, itchy, rashy skin and it does not bother me. In fact, once it dries, I can't even tell there is anything there. No sticky, greasy residue to irritate and it does a great job.

It's a little spendy as deodorants go, but so worth it.

Yet again - I am looking for advice from everyone here!

Some may find this to be a yucky subject, but it's a part of everyone's daily routine so here goes!

I have used an anti-perspirant all my life. As a young woman, I perspired very heavily and at one point used Mitchum's (which was about the strongest thing that was available way bak when). I don't seem to perspire as heavily as I did but do upon occasion when I get nervous or very warm.

Now, since I have so many skin problems and irritations, I use Dove for sensitive skin. I do find it to be effective, but I'm still getting rather itchy and irritated.

I would like to switch to something more natural but am afraid this would not be effective. I don't know whether just a deodorant and not an anti-perspirant would be sufficient for me.

Has anyone got any suggestions for a product which might be a better choice for me?

Also, do those crystal type things help with odor and wetness control?

I appreciate all your posts!

Unfortunately I can totally relate! My skin has become sensitive over the years and I've literally spent hundreds of dollars on various deodorants & anti-perspirants. I've even ordered from independent etsy deodorant makers. I would love something natural without aluminium but after trying a lot of ""natural"" ones have come to the conclusion they just aren't effective for me I've spent time researching which ""natural"" brands are most effective and ordered them only to be left stinky I don't sweat a lot either. It's the odor control I need-ha! If you find something that works please share. As of now I'm using Dove sensitive solid. It doesn't irritate but it's unscented so I have to reapply a lot.

I have found the crystal deodorants to be the most effective and mild of any other deodorant. You can get the crystal, spray on or roll on. It just seems like water but great. When I first started using it over 20 years ago, I kept asking my boyfriend and my friends to tell me if they could smell me when it was hot. It took about a month to be really comfortable using it and realizing that it works far better than anything else and I didn't have to worry about sweat stains, white clothing marks and sweating heavily. I don't get the wet sweat stains in really hot weather and don't get running underarm sweat when doing things like mowing the grass on really hot days and never any smell!! I know several men who use it and not matter what they don't smell sweaty even after heavy workouts.

I much prefer the Dove Clinical Strength to Secret because of the delivery system. Some of the Secret containers I've found are very difficult to twist up. Dove is much easier and just as good, if not better. They have several fragrances or none if you prefer.

DD pefers Mitchum. I've never tried that one, but she says it is "stronger".

I see crystals mentioned several times here. Beauty$Junkie mentioned Naturally Fresh.

Would you post the names of the other crystal ones you use and which form and how you like them?

I don't know if I would perspire much just using a deodorant as I have always used antiperspirant. I am half afraid to try using only a deodorant as I am always stressed out and don't want to have ""pit"" stains on my clothing! Yuck!

Thanks so much. I appreciate your posts!

On 2/21/2015 number one queen said: I loved philosophy deodorant, but can't find it anymore. I started using Tom's and like that. Would you explain the crystal deodorants to me, it sounds interesting.

Crystal deodorants are made from mineral salts which act as a deodorizer on the skin. The crystals prevent the formation of bacteria from perspiration. It is that bacteria which is what we smell as underarm odor. Regular deodorants we are used to really just mask scent like a perfume. They don't actually treat the skin to prevent odors. The even more popular anti-perspirants are full of chemicals which clog the underarm pores to perform their job of odor and wetness prevention (this includes those labeled as being sensitive to skin). There may be something more scientific on the web someplace, but that is a general view.

Most of us can use regular deodorants and anti-perspirants and never have a problem, but for those who are sensitive -- and those who just want to eliminate chemicals from going on and into their bodies-- crystal deodorant is a fine alternative. Some people may find in transitioning from regular anti-perspirant to crysal deodorant that they don't have odor, but feel more dampness under the arms than one gets when using Sure, Secret, Dove, Ban, Degree, and the rest of the chemical gang. The brand I recommend is simply called Crystal and you can get it at some of the chain drugstores (Walgreens, CVS) and online sites which sell drugstore products (drugstore.com, Amazon).

I use the crystal as soon as I get out of the shower while the underarm area is wet. I just rub it over the entire underarm area and you are good to go. It is a solid salt (I believe) crystal and has none of the harmful aluminum that is found in regular deodorants. You will sweat, but you won't stink. Sweating is a natural body function that the other antiperspirants block. I worked outside and, in the summer, I could not stand to be around me by the end of the day, until I tried this. I will never go back to the other chemical deodorants. The crystals last forever. I gave my sister one to try a few years ago, and I thought I might get her another, but she said she probably will never need another at her age.

I used to use Mitchum and Certain Dri. Now I use "Secret Invisible Solid Natural Mineral Unscented." The Unscented one is tough to find at stores, but I have seen scented ones (which you should avoid). I get mine at drugstore dot com. And amazon.

It doesn't irritate my skin and it has a nice creamy formulation that is invisible, and it really stays on.

I use the Crystal rock deodorant. NEVER any odor. My pit may feel damp but never enough dampness to show on clothing or even a tissue. Maybe the dampness of a babies armpit. I have showered in the morning applied the deodorant and then not showered til the next evening and still no odor and no need to reapply. I have only done this in the winter because my skin is so dry. In the summer, no matter how hot it is outside I have never had it not last from daily shower to shower.
