It seems like a lot of work for a result that could turn out really bad. I just don't have that kind of time in the morning. I love makeup but this just wouldn't work for me.

I have been reading a lot about contouring, but I will admit it's a little scary and I don't want to look like I'm trying too hard. There's so many new kits out there, and I was just wondering if anyone has tried any of these. And your thoughts? Tips?

I have had the Anastasia one since it first released on her site. I don't use it every day, but it really do like it. She released two additional darker sets, which I think is awesome, because I don't feel that they are one-color-fits-all, although her original light-medium one would work with a large variety of skin tones. HTH!!

I have separate bronzers and highlighters but the only one actually together in a kit, per se; Kevyn Aucoin. It's pretty tiny and while I know his stuff is supposed to be all sorts of special and wonderful it's really no more impressive than the Ulta bronzer and illuminator that came in the giant kit with 44 eyeshadows, liners, primers, and lip colors!

The ones I'm really enjoying are the Beccas that I received as try mes from the Q a while back. Both are liquids in a tube. They're easy to blend, good pigment, and stay in place. Best $5 I've spent! I'm not saying the pressed versions don't have these qualities, I just prefer the liquid.

I am using one by SKINN right now. It is nice. It doesn't have multiple shades for contouring & I really don't think they are necessary. I have been using contouring products for a long time & don't want to make it more complicated than it is.

I use bronzers in the summer but prefer not to use them for contouring as the colors & finishes are different. But I have used them for contouring.

My main tip would be to blend well.

I have been playing with contour and watching tons of videos. I have bought a lot, and many sets are better left in the hands of MU artists. I have watched dozens of YouTube videos and the cameras are sped up, but you are looking at eight minutes-who knows how long it actually takes in real life? ###Here are my fave: Smash box is super easy to use and blend. It defines without screaming "I'm using contour!". It can be worn alone, but I typically use a little blush on the apples of my cheeks. Lancome's new Duo is easy to use as well and does not look greasy or orange-and that was a problem with virtually every cream contour I tried....another idea is that you can buy two foundations: one several shades deeper than your natural skin tone-but be careful: you want a shadow effect. The other foundation, go a few shades lighter. Many cosmetic companies give free samples or inexpensive samples-such as Cinema Secrets. For ease, however, my vote is Smash box and Lancome.

I have and I regret buying them. I think for someone who is a makeup artist, they are great since they work on a variety of skin tones. I think it's much better to buy individual pans and make your own to match your skin. Lots of great YouTube videos on contouring.

The best one I've used is by Lancôme. It's a powder compact complete with blush. Puts the one I have from Skinn to shame. It's super easy to use and it looks fantastic.

Bella,if you are going after the Kardashian look, that is time consuming work. Contour should be subtle, and it is easy to apply: you just have to find the right one. Poodlepet2
