Hi ginabfly, I've had problems with itchy & uncomfortable skin due to bismuth in original & Ready. I started using matte last fall and so far, so good. You must be allergic to something else in the matte that isn't in original & Ready. I've also tried BareSkin and haven't noticed any problems yet. Good luck.

Matte vs Original - Irritation?

Hello all! I've been using BE Original foundation for quite a few years, and occasionally I use Matte or Ready, but tend to stick to Original. I used Matte the other day, and part of my face broke out in a rash, nothing terrible, but there were a few itchy bumps on my chin and forehead. I didn't do anything else different, same skin care etc, so I think it had to be the Matte foundation. Has anyone else experienced irritation from Matte over Original? I know some people break out from the bismuth and cant use BE, but I've never had a problem before. I'm using Original again and my face is fine, a tad dry thanks to winter, but otherwise normal.

I'm just wondering if anyone else has had this happen?

I usually use the original. I have the Ready and the BareSkin. A friend sent me a sample of the matte and it felt a bit itchy to me. I didn't break out, but it did make my face feel itchy.

Thanks Bethee for the response. I've used Matte before with no problems, but I mainly use Original or sometimes Ready (though I still have a hard time finding my shade), I'll just stick to Original & Ready.

BTW I wear Fairly Medium in Original, and that doesn't seem to translate well to other foundation shades. It's apparently a very unique shade. I did the online Sephora color IQ thing, and only like 2 other brands came up that are supposed to match if I wear Fairly Medium. I also did it in store, and it showed me as much darker and yellow than I am (I have pink undertones). I think it was because I just came in from the brutal cold and my skin hadn't adjusted yet. That beauty IQ is not foolproof, just sayin.
