I have used this on both my 16 oz and 32 oz bottles with no problem whatsoever! It could not be easier, and it works like a charm. There is a Yellow adapter for the smaller bottles and an Orange one for the 32 oz...I'm not a "gallon girl" but I see that the Purple part alone works on those.
