topic if you were committing a fashion "don't" would you want someone to tell you? in Beauty

i think i usually look pretty current and put-together, but a couple of things i read today got me to thinking: if i were committing some beauty or fashion "don't" (like being badly out-dated, ill-fitted clothing, orange makeup, giant mascara goobers, etc) that i didn't realize, i would want someone to tell me- gently- that perhaps the look wasn't showing me to my best advantage. i'm pretty sure that i would take it ok as long as they were sensitive and not mean (but i'd probably give a mean comment some consideration, as well). in the end, of course, i would wear what makes me comfortable. but if someone told me that, say, brown lipstick or hairy black brows do nothing for me (and- really- i don't have either!) i would probably listen, or get other opinions.

what do you ladies think?
