I purchased this model over Christmas. Nice! It's quiet & really like the stainless steel inside pot...and the lip holder on both sides.

If you do Facebook, there's a closed group called "InstaPot Users Group"...has close to 3500+ users so the thread is quite active...giving recipe ideas, posting questions, showing pictures...fun group! Join! You won't be disappointed....

I love mine. This is my second pressure cooker, the 1st one ( different brand ) died after 4 uses. So I read all the reviews on Amazon and this had the best. I can not believe the difference in quality. I got mine from Amazon. I also don't understand why anyone would want a pressure cooker with non stick coating. The inst pot has stainless steel.

I came across this recommendation on the kitchen forum and spent a lot of time comparing as I wanted to get one for my brother and SIL. They're super-busy with two young kids and I've been leaning toward getting a pressure cooker for them for years but was a it hesitant after bringing it up to my SIL as my SIL said she knew nothing about them and didn't think they'd use it when I casually asked (they were thinking of the old-fashioned ones, my brother knew nothing about them either). What i liked about this one is it does enough that even if they didn't really take to pressure cooking, it does a lot more. Luckily, my SIL dove in and went through the two books I gifted with it (the exact one above) and used it a lot around Christmas to become more comfortable with it by the time school started (she's a teacher). It also makes yogurt, which I think is great with how much sugar's in most commercial yogurt.

I included Bob Warden's book and it's a great one, plus one called something like Hip Pressure Cooking. The latter one's author has a blog with a lot of great information, such as average times for food to be cooked, recipes, and so on. The chart of cooking times is on her website and in the index of the book. Luckily I tend to read the Index of books when checking them out so when I looked through it at their house, it turned out that chart was in the index and hadn't been spotted. The book has good recipes and is her second book, but the recipes aren't situated the best. For example, a recipe would start on one page and the next would continue right after on the same page instead of on it's own page. I hope that makes sense.

I hope to purchase one soon, most likely in Fall but we'll see as I have some Amazon cards to use, so it may be sooner than later. I would definitely purchase this one. This one and the 5 qt. seem to go back and forth being the #1 on Amazon. You can also read a lot on Instant Pot's website. Frankly, if my SIL was more of a computer gal, the blog and Instant Pot's website and forum contain a lot of info and likely enough to get going without books, it's just nice to have them when starting with something new.
