Yes, the brush does not burn a person's hand, but the barrel that touches the hair must. What would Chaz say?

Do you think she will have it on another TSV?

Have used the perfecter for a few months now and love it. Does not seem to harm my hair. Blow drying seemed much worse. I use mine at a bit lower setting and it works just fine.

Thanks for the info on lesser expensive brands, brunette8706. I thought there were other brands. I am not sure Maria really invented this product. Will be interested in any additional comments. My daughter has been using a flat iron and it wreaks havoc on ends.

I have used the perfector at the lowest setting. It dried the ends of my hair. I won't use it anymore. Let's face it, any heat can damage hair. At least when you blow dry the dryer is moving and not concentrated in one spot.

It does get very hot on high. I scorched the ends of my hair when I first bought it and it made me sick because my hair was so healthy. My hair is still super dry on the ends because of it.

I use it, but only on medium. I don't know how anyone could use the high setting without damage.

Not saying it's not doing damage, but it's not doing any damage I can see.

When I used a curling iron, I could definitely see damage. Never tried a flat iron, but can't imagine it would do less damage than a curling iron.

I'm not 100% sold on the Perfector for giving me curl, but it still is the only hot tool I'm willing to use at all besides my dryer which I do use - just not when my hair is soaking wet to get it dry in a hurry.

It definitely depends on what kind of hair one has. Some people have baby fine, thin hair and some have thick coarse hair. I think you'd only need to worry about damage with the Perfector if you have very thin baby fine hair.

I don't usually buy a flat iron or hot curling brush or iron, unless it is able to reach a temp of 425 degrees for my hair. I have to have a hot, hot iron to style my hair. I have tough hair to style! I have very thick, coarse and porous Irish hair (thank you Grandpa) and it is wavy and in order to straighten or curl my hair, a styling appliance has to be set at 425 or it doesn't work on my hair. I have never burned my hair with any styling appliance.

I know that the Perfector would never work for me if it only reaches 395 degrees. If you have what I would consider "normal" hair, I'd think the Perfector would not damage hair.

I use WEN Products after cleansing and I know they help because my hair is extremely healthy. My hairstylist is amazed at how I don't get split ends etc. So..if you use WEN, just be sure to follow Chaz's advice about adding the appropriate amount of cleansing conditioner and any other of his products to clean, soaking wet hair before drying/styling. I like to add his styling cream and mousse. Before I style my hair, I use his Smoothing Glossing Serum. Also, Remoist is awesome!! Hope this helps!

I use it also on medium settings. It's milder to your hair then a flat iron or a curling iron. I also use the John Frieda hot air brush. It's just as good as the protector. Yes I agree blow drying your hair is much more damaging.
