Question on Calista Tools Perfector

I recently received my Perfector and just love the body, smoothness and curl it gives my shoulder length hair. The shine it gives is unbelievable! I used it three times and today I noticed a burning smell and the plastic bristles are very warm to the touch. I hadn't noticed that before. Have any of you ladies who own one experienced this?

I always use mine on the medium setting and have never had the bristles feel hot.

This is my favorite hair styling tool. The bristles never get hot - maybe warm, not definitely not hot.

I did notice a slight smell the first couple times I used it, but not anymore.

I've noticed mine gets super hot also, but I don't remember smelling anything hot. I use mine on medium setting.

Are you sure you're smelling the plastic and not your hair products reacting to the heat?

Never had the bristles feel hot on mine.

I do have a question: would someone who has the smaller (1") perfecter tell me the diameter if they measure around the bristles. I tried measuring the barrel and that's almost impossible. TIA

I can't find that info anywhere for either the 1" or 1 1/2". Callista always brags the Perfecter works on short hair, but I find I can't really get much benefit until my short haircut is a few weeks old.

Yes. I noticed the smell shortly after I plugged it in and before I started to use it.
