Thanks. Yes I know they have lash extensions at the salon. They look great on people but I would not want to do anything that lasts for weeks. I am just trying to figure out the over the counter lashes--do you only use them once?

It seems everyone is wearing false lashes these days. I have never used them but see them in the store . I know you glue them on, but then do you take them off every night? and do you use each set or piece only once? I wonder how you take them off without pulling out your own lashes?

Thanks for any input

I would recommend that you watch YouTube videos on this subject. What I do know is that when you start wearing them your natural lashes thin out and that is not good. I know some people saw their lashes are never the same. That is why I did not start wearing fake lashes.

I use them and my lashes are just fine. Just remove them gently. I agree with pas4116, watch YouTube videos. I found them to be tremendously helpful. If it's just a one time occasion, why don't you go to a MAC counter and have them put the lashes on you. You can still save in reuse those lashes several times if you choose.

They are VERY hard on one's lashes. They do damage lashes so I rarely wear them.

I know some women who use them daily, and they now have NO lashes.

The lash extensions also damage one's lashes. I just stick to volumizing mascaras for the most part.

I have worn a full lash occasionally and seem to lose a few of my own when removing them. However, I prefer the little clusters - just two or three sets from the middle of my eyes down to the outside corners really make my eyes pop and don't seem to do any damage to my real lashes. I use eye make up remover and let it set for a bit before carefully pulling off the clusters. Those look so natural that most people don't notice I am wearing them but will stare or comment on how nice my lashes look. They are easier to apply than the full strips too. Takes a little experimenting but the payoff is worth the effort to me.

I've tried on false lashes a couple of times, and at 41, I felt I looked like I was just trying too hard. There are several fiber mascaras out that can give the false lash effect without damaging your lashes. Of course, if you are wanting to wear false lashes for a special event, or just every once in a while...by all means, GO FOR IT! If I ever had a date night with the hubs once in a while, I might go the distance as well.

I lost all my eyelashes and eyebrows when I had surgery in 1973, weird reaction to anesthesia. I have a few straggly lashes and brows but they don't show. I wish I could find a simple, fairly sparse looking set of false eyelashes that were easy to put on. Oh well.

I've neve worn them. Never need to wear them. I don't have a lot of hair but I do have good eyelashes. I think it's because I use Maybelline waterproof mascara since I was a teen.

Every night I remove the mascara with very warm water and a microfiber wash rag. I think it helps the eyelashes to not get gunked up. I never wear makeup unless I'm going out of the house and then I ALWAYS wear mascara.

I think it's just a throwback from when I was a teen in the 60's. Being a teen in the 60's was wonderful. Learned a lot of tricks about makeup.

I wear false eyelashes ALL THE TIME. I've had women come up to me, asking what kind of mascara I use, then I tell them I'm wearing false lashes.

I've been wearing them full-time for a year or two. My real lashes are more sparse, but who cares? If they were that great, I wouldn't have turned to false ones.

ETA: You asked if people remove them every night - I don't. I typically wear the same pair of lashes for about 2 weeks. If they loosen at the corner, I just add some lash glue there and press. They will stay on that long; I use Duo lash glue.

I just ordered latisse (dupe) and I know that worked on my lashes in the past. I like the look of flash lashes but my problem is the top being so long and pretty and the bottom being sparse. This is the way I wish my lashes would look - notice the bottom are very long also.

I'm not saying her lashes are real or not, I'm just saying I like the LOOK of having LENGTH on both the bottom and TOP.

The few times a year I wear them they are the ARdell demi falsies. They don't look fake. They are really nice. I'd wear them more often if they weren't so damaging. My lashes are fairly good so I don't want to ruin them. I like the look of the demi falsies. They are not noticeably fake.
