If your hair is heat or chemically damaged, you need to compensate for the protein those processes destroy. The 613 provides your hair with the protein it needs after being damaged. So if you have frizzy, unmanagable, split ends, etc you could use more protein. It is possible to have too much protein as others have said, so be cautious not to overuse it.

If I understand correctly, 613 has more protein? How does one determine if that is needed? Thanks so much.

Hi AVChick: If you go to any of the CCs on the Q website and scroll down a bit on the page you will find a file that is called WEN Comparison Chart. Click on that and you can get full descriptions of each formula including 613. Let us know if that answers your question.

Be well!

Hi Dahling:

You can also go to chazdeanstudio.com and choose from the drop down 613 and if it doesn't show yet, click on the little magnifying glass and it show what do you want to look at? Choose ingredients and you'll see a list as long as your arm that the other cleansing conditioners don't have. Not that the others aren't as good but 613 Chaz calls "Wen on steroids". I checked out Wen Men that way, was just curious though since it's my favorite. The other poster mentioned a good way too. My husband has hair that's ethnic in texture and he uses it and his hair is gorgeous. I use it too.

You have to go with what your hair is doing too. When I first started using WEN this time (almost 7 months ago) I used 613 for a full month and my hair was great. Then it got flyaway - too much protein. For awhile I was using it mixed in with whatever CC I was using for my second cleanse. And lately just once a week as my second cleanse. Over the weekend though my hair got flyaway again so yesterday I used 613 as my first and second cleanse and my hair was great. Guess I'm needing more protein right now. So I'm going to alternate the Bamboo Green Tea and 613 for awhile. I've found the Replenishing Treatmanet Mist really helps with flyaway hair by the way. I spray it on my hands then apply.

Thanks ladies. I think I understand. I do have more flyaways this time of year so maybe I need to order the 613. Merry Christmas to all of you and thanks again for taking the time to answer my question.
